Darwin's Townhouse had a very intimate character, staffed by extremely pleasant and helpful young ladies - at least we didn't seen any young men! We had a basement room which was quirky but well equipped. Breakfast in the conservatory was one of the best, the first fresh fruit salad on our trip. Darwin artefacts etc prominent, which made it very...

I have used Darwins as a base for nearly 9 months, travelling to Shrewsbury on a weekly basis on a work assignment. It's proved to be great decision to have it as a base, being so close to the town centre and feeling like a 'home from home'. The staff are great, really welcoming and engaging without being too intrusive...

We didn't want to leave the bed it was huge and really comfortable. The bathroom was lovely, nice powerful and hot shower. We only had breakfast at the hotel and it...

Stayed at the Darwin for two nights at the beginning of May. Its a lovely BnB, nice decor and clean. We were greeted and as it was our first time in Shrewsbury the lady (sorry cannot remember her name!) gave us some tips about how to get about and what were good points of interest in and about the town....

Gorgeous boutique townhouse in beautiful Shrewsbury. We were welcomed by superb staff who spent a long time highlighting the map to ensure we made the most of our visit and the 10% discount at two restaurants. Fabulous decor and relaxing atmosphere.

Once the upgrading has been completed this will be a lovely hotel. Very welcoming to dogs, allowed in 2 sitting rooms. Beautifully decorated and furnished to reflect Darwin's scientific work. It was a shame we had to change rooms (due to the need for some maintenance). Excellent breakfast and love!y, peaceful garden. Staff were all love!y, friendly and knowledgeable. We...

I'm a bit late writing this but really wanted to put a review on. We stayed here for one night with friends .. we had asked for rooms in the main house (after reading reviews on here). The location is great for exploring Shrewsbury and we found it after driving round a couple of times - there is no car...
