We always enjoy a visit either after a walk or for an evening socialising with friends. Super friendly staff and nice to be fussed by customers and residents. Always treats on the bar but for a real treat, ask behind the bar for a 'dog sausage'..the button on the till next to 'extra breakfast sausage'. Always cooked to mouthwatering perfection....

This place is lovely and in the middle of a lovely village, near to mountain bike trails of Lady Cannings Plantation. My husband and I visited here today after biking on the trails and we were looking forward to a good meal. I had scampi and chips but they weren't chips, they were very thick skin on wedges. My husband...

Stopped by with my parents as they were staying in the area. The place was busy on a weekday at lunch time and I can see why it's popular. The food was cheap but huge portions - I had the chicken burger and it was clearly homemade and it was massive and tasty. My only quibble with the place was...

We stayed here one night, had a very large room which was pleasant. What made it was the staff and the food. We had our evening meal there and it was lovely. I had ham hock and there was plenty left for sandwiches next day , which the hotel gave us the bread for. We will definitely stay There again...

I stopped for 3 nights while visiting Sheffield and had a spacious comfortable double room (1). Noise was not an issue even though I was above Reception and through traffic was reasonable. Plus points; friendly staff - never a problem with taking your order, piping hot mixer shower with bath, good home cooked food in generous portions and a decent...

From the moment I walked into the hotel the staff were welcoming, offered to help carry bags to room, explained timings for meals. I booked in on a Monday night and there is a Jazz club that meet, which I was told about and the time that they finished. The rooms I used over a 7 week period of staying...

We stayed at the Norfolk Alms for two nights. What a lovely hotel. The location is stunning and so well placed for trips to Derbyshire whether driving or walking. The surrounding countryside is amazing. The staff are so friendly and welcoming and nothing is too much trouble. You really feel at home. The rooms are spacious and well appointed and...

Called in for a drink at 5.15. Peak ales bitter excellent, but no quality draught lager for my wife. Just Coors, Carlsberg, Peroni, all devoid of any taste. Bottled Stancill lager is good. Decided to eat, but gave up after waiting for 15 min for anyone to take our order. Once a busy pub, but interesting to see no one...

We called in while on a walk this morning and the staff where extremely helpful they brought our drinks over. The bar was extremely clean, staff were wiping the legs of the chairs. The wood burner provided a warm welcome on a cold morning .
