We went to the Staindrop with friends for something quick to eat. I have to say that this was one of the best pub meals I have had in a long time. The portions were massive the food was freshly cooked and full of flavour. Best of all it was very reasonably priced. We would definitely go again well done

I had previously stayed at another local hotel and was so disappointed as it was so expensive. We moved offices to just round the corner from the Lodge so I thought I'd try here. Well I am glad I did! The room is lovely, clean & spacious. The staff are really friendly. The food! Omg where do I start? I...

Stayed here for the first time, others in the business are regulars as the office is in Chapeltown. My room was just along from the reception which is great if you're carrying a few bags. There were 6 of us and as one wanted to watch the Arsenal match in the bar we ate there and I had the seafood...

Booked a couple of hours in advance, and was a great evening out. The food was delicious (and plentiful- we brought home half of my daughters pie to finish the following day). Great menu, particularly the specials. Some simple dishes to please less adventurous diners, but lots of other tempting choices too. Very good service. Good bar too. Lovely surroundings.

This place is both a pub/restaurant and a hotel but we just ate. The Wortley lamb cutlets are to die for - never seen chops so big! Not for the faint hearted. I opted for the sea bass with king prawn linguini and it was superb. The staff were very friendly and efficient and the food really is top notch....

I stayed here overnight for work purposes. Overall the hotel is nice, the reception girl was friendly and check in was smooth. The room was large and clean with all required amenities. Wifi is a bit weak, and no room service which was my only criticism. There is an onsite restaurant where I had breakfast which was lovely, good selection....

I had the opportunity to visit here 2 days on the trot with different friends and as it is local and had a new menu I thought I why not! The first meal was lovely - goats cheese pizza and rhubarb and custard tart were both very nice choices. I had my eye on the steak and ale pie for...

Nice big rooms which are clean and tidy. Could do with a bigger TV but otherwise comfortable. Have visited a few times now and know what level to expect. Staff are polite and aim to please. Good parking as well.
