Went to Sheffield for a funeral and stayed 2 nights at the Garrison Hotel. Room very nice apart from creaky wooden floor but overall was just what we needed. Cooked breakfast and lots more besides. Pub/restaurant part of the hotel and ate there for the 2 nights. Food good, value for money and good choice. Location good for city centre,...

We wanted a buffet for 60"people, ideally we would have liked 30 hot and 30"cold buffet options but we're told it had to be hot or cold. The sandwiches consisted on unlabelled unidentifiable of less quantity than we paid for (they put out 50 rather than 60). A portion of buffet consisted of one sausage roll, two, pieces of bread with...

Claims to be a 4 star, i would say 2 star. The staff a really nice and friendly but the rooms were too hot and there was no fan available. The toilets in the room were decorated in the 1970s and never changed! The heater in the toilet was broken and so was the extractor fan. Shampoo, conditioner and soap...

I confess, I chose this because it was cheap so I wasn't expecting much but for the price this was amazing. Really amazing! Rooms have everything you could want - they're basic but clean and large. The actual hotel has real character and set out like a much nicer and quainter version of an old Campanile - rooms opening onto...

We stayed here last night as our grandson was in hospital. The room was clean and fresh. The breakfast was very nice, pleasant staff. Highly recommended. If I was to criticise the only minor fault is the pillows were a tad hard x

Stumbled across the bar/restaurant as we wanted a hot drink in nice surroundings. Hillsborough is rather run down so it was a joy to find that the barracks had been given a new lease of life thanks to Morrisons & the local council. Lots of history, great service, very well priced, cosy & relaxing. Only negative was the interior lacked...

“Huge bed with crisp white linen and bright white towels. Heating very good as v cold outside. Staff exceptionally friendly and nothing too much trouble.” Although we were given a disabled room, Breakfast Room, Bar and Restaurant are up 2 flights of stairs!!!!( hence 4*). Yes it's all a bit dated but clean and ideal for a 2 night break....

Stayed on business as my usual hotel was full. Helpful reception staff and good breakfast with excellent service but the room wasn't great, I didn't feel comfortable and although the linen was clean things like grubby plugs and dusty corners meant I didn't feel I could relax properly as it didn't feel spotless which I expect from a hotel room....

This is a well situated hotel for those who wish to be near the action. We stayed for bed and breakfast along with several others who were out on the town for a" work's do". The accommodation was adequate; the bed comfortable and on a particularly cold night the room was warm. The full English breakfast the next day was...
