Hotel seems to be an odd collection of buildings attached together, and some areas and rooms are quite in need of updating. But it was clean and functional - and staff were invariably very helpful and friendly.

I was booked in this hotel by colleagues from Sheffield University for a visit, and I am very pleased. Parking at the University would be nightmarish, and this hotel is 10 minutes walking distance, so I was able to leave my car at the hotel and walk, very practical. The room is nice and comfy, it has everything you expect...

Staff were friendly enough on arrival and check-in was quick and efficient. Also pleasant quick on check-out. Unfortunately the bit in between was not great. The website gives an impression of stylish, comtempory rooms. The reality is somewhat different: ours was very small and badly designed, with a double bed up against the wall and very limited space. There were...

Very comfortable bed and a nice room. The staff were hvery helpful without exception. Food in the restaurant was very good and again the staff went out of their way to help me with my very limited diet. Breakfast was a delight and the whole experience was one I would like to repeat `t any time.

I booked this place thinking it would be along the lines of a Premier Inn quality place but independent. Frankly it was quite grim. The room was about the size of a large cupboard, with a small single bed which was a foam mattress. The place needs a decent size makeover as the carpets, wallpaper etc was all a bit...

We stayed here as it is near the hospital we had to take our son to for treatment. The place looks as if it needs a good makeover, but it was very comfortable. We were told it is a listed building(s), so any possibility of renovation is limited. The only complaint was that the old fashioned timber box-frame windows (some...

Two opinions on this hotel, firstly it really needs a makeover it's very tired, wallpaper coming loose carpet joints splitting and the bathroom in our room had a walk in shower with no shelving for toiletries etc, it would have been better to have a shower cubicle and have shelves. One more point would be to have the corridor lighting...

I think the hotel is fine although as some have indicated somewhat dated - it also has a very sombre colour scheme - the staff are all in black and the rooms are black and grey and it does make it somewhat dour. The staff are very helpful - however I would say that for anyone advancing in years as...

We stayed here for 2 nights and would happily stay again. The staff were brilliant - really cheerful, friendly and helpful. My husband is disabled and we asked for an accessible room. It was ok for us but wouldn't suit a wheelchair user. The bed is a mattress on a wooden platform which has rather sharp corners. But the general...
