Just got back from two nights at the Reading Lake Hotel. While the surrounding area and the lake itself is nice, the actual hotel was left more to be desired. We went on a Bank Holiday Monday weekend and for a place like that you would like that there would be lots of people staying there, but it was rather...

It's interesting reading the other reviews because it's such a mixed bag of reactions! I was taken here as a surprise present so had no preconceptions. Other half and I discussed at length the pros and cons of this hotel. I quite liked it. Our room was practically on the lake with the balcony resting on the water. I thought...

We booked a groupon deal to go here which gave us a nights stay, free bottle of wine and full English the next day. When we arrived the staff were very pleasant and helpful and told us where to get our bottle of wine. We were aware that the hotel was located outside of the town centre so decided to...

I have stayed in hundreds of hotels over the years and this has to be one of the worst. First room had peeling wallpaper due to mould and black grout in the bathroom. I was moved to another room which seemed ok, until I saw the spiders. They were all over the room and 3 fell out of the curtains...

Having read some reviews in this hotel we were initially wary but had no need to be. We were greeted by lovely staff throughout our stay. We booked the hotel through their website for dinner bed abd breakfast. We had a suite on the top floor and this was large , very clean and the view was idyllic. We had...

We stayed here last night after having purchased a deal on groupon. The saying 'you get what you pay for' couldn't be more true! We paid 59 gbp to stay here with a free bottle of wine and breakfast. Given the setting and photos we had images of sitting on the terrace watching the lake having a few cocktails. How...

First, the positive: the staff are very nice people. Some are even quite good at their jobs. Now, the negatives. I walked into my room (after an £18 cab journey from Reading - yes, it's that far out) and noticed two things; first, it was roasting hot, and second, dead insects all up the walls. This told me I would...

We stayed at this hotel for two nights whilst attending another function. It had recently changed names, and we understand owners. To start with we had trouble finding it. We approached on the M4 from the Swindon direction, and left the motorway at junction 12. The AA route planner said that one turns right at the 3rd roundabout on the...
