A last minute business trip left me in Reading at this hotel. On a plus note, spacious and clean room...everything worked. The hotel feels somewhat soulless and empty. Almost Soviet in feel. The bar was ok. Limited beer choice. Staff nice enough. If you have a low expectation, then go for it. The bed was compfy and clean. I was...

I was pleasantly surprised by public areas but dissapointed by disabled facilities in bedroom. I had informed them I was in a wheelchair but bathroom not adequate at all. I did complain and got a night free but had no washing possible. Should not say they were disabled friendly.

We actually booked into the adjoining Lawn Hotel, but on arrival found that establishment closed and a sign directing us to the Parkside instead where our booking had been transferred. The helpful young man at reception advised us that the hotels were under the same ownership, but that Parkside was the better hotel! However, we found the bed in our...

This hotel is very poor and far from value for money. It felt more like a £30 hostel than a £70+ a night hotel. Car park is small and forces overflow into building site-esque car park. Check-in was ok but didn't provide any information just gave the room key and said 3rd floor. Room - had a rattling/ventilator sound which...

We found staff friendly and helpful and our room was clean and comfortable. We did notice a slight smell of smoke but not anything bad. It was lovely to be able to stay with our dog in tow and he was made to feel welcome. It was good to have a big park so close by which we made the...

Waited for what seemed an eternity to book in because the receptionist was serving in the bar. Then when I went to the bar I waited ten minutes to be served because he was booking people in. They only had one glass of pinot left and blamed it on the races

Overall, this hotel is very poor. Cleanliness is average and feels like it is a construction site with work being carried out around the hotel. It is also full of contractors and builders staying and is more of a residence for such people. You usually struggle to park late evening too due to the amount of vans on site. Most...

The title says it all really - few garlic button mushrooms thrown on a plate with handful of lettuce, tough sirloin steak done med/well rather than med/rare as asked. To be fair, they didn't charge for the main course, but nonetheless, I won't be back. Room a bit dingy, bath has enamel scraped away in places. I think I'd rather...

Stayed at this hotel for 1 night due to family commitments in Reading . On arrival hotel looked as though it could be updated a little . But when entering we found it to be both spacious and clean and tidy. The guy at reception was polite and check in was both quick and efficient. Our room was on 2nd...
