This place has a strange set up where you go into what is essentially a cafe/butty shop to collect your key before letting yourself in to the unmanned accommodation (although you are regularly reminded 'the proprietor lives in the building'). Room was basic but clean, bathroom was ok. I had a view of a discarded black shoe on an enclosed...

Stayed here for the Saturday night of Reading Festival, this was the only hotel left we could find which was in walking distance and had 2 beds available. We paid an arm and leg, £200+ for one night (almost 3 times more what it normally would cost). In the room, the beds didn't even have covers on the duvets!!! We...

On arrival at the hotel there were no staff and no intercom, push button that dials a number, no phone just a A4 piece of paper with telephone numbers. Lucky my phone was charged otherwise I wouldn't have been able to get in without a lot of hassle. Rang the 1st number it rang out, 2nd number somebody answered and...

I stayed in a single, en-suite room. The decor was a bit Grandma's spare room (matching terracotta curtains, bedspread and lampshade, dark wood furniture), and a little worn, but it was clean. It's hardly a boutique hotel, but then, it doesn't pretend to be. My bed was comfortable and I had a good night's sleep, apart from being woken once...

Well situated but noisy all night, near the station and city centre. but a really tiny room for £65 a night. This place is situated above a cafe. I wouldn't return here. As I was unable to sleep due to the noise.

I guess you get what you pay for. Avoid this place unless you really have no other choice or you are staying only one night. The only good thing about it is the location, right by the train station and around the corner from the very nice Reading city centre. As other reviewers have noted, this isn't a hotel. It...

Stopped here with partner and was really impressed with the accommodation. Real secure premises. Clean and tidy and right in the centre of Reading. 5 min walk to railway station. Considering proximity of accommodation very quiet room. I also left my reading glasses there and when I rang up the proprieter was very helpful and posted them to me. Would...

Stayed for one night and would not consider this if staying any longer. The B&B is well located and directly by the train station. Simple to find and seconds away from restaurants and other amenities. The room is small, quiet and functional. However, it was missing a hair drier. The bed was very hard and difficult to sleep in. The...

If you dont expect any service . this is the place to go. They are pretty cheap , wifi is good. I havent tried food here , but must be ok . Location is very central and close to town. Easiest to get on train to anywhere , London from reading station, which is 2 minutes walk away.
