We had an extraordinary experience staying here, greeted by Toby the manager and Chloe in a most professional, welcoming and courteous way, and then escorted to comfortable rooms appointed in an understatedly beautiful way - natural fibers silk, leather, cotton, and wool - with beautifully crafted details such as elegant shower features and sophisticated mini-bar. Quiet and cozy, the room... More

Thank you very much April. So pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your stay and how well you were looked after. I cannot take credit for what is very much a team effort. My colleague Gemma Holden deserves praise for how well she manages the restaurant and her staff. Similarly, Alman Nasution is to be thanked for how well... More

With only 35 rooms, the Old Parsonage Hotel is a lovely retreat in a beautiful city. We had a deluxe double room on the ground floor for 4 nights. There are some stairs to negotiate if you stay on one of the floors above. Except for the bed, which sloped quite a bit on both sides, I can say nothing... More

Thank you very much for leaving such a lovely review. I've read it several times now (including aloud to colleagues!) It appears you enjoyed all the best aspects of the Old Parsonage and its environs, not to mention our renowned level of hospitality. Delighted to hear how much you enjoyed 'Eccentric Oxford'. This is a truly wonderful hotel. Staff make you welcome from start to finish. We had a junior suite which was lovely. Great outdoor space, nice bar area making a very comfortable stay. Shame we did not have time to borrow the bicycles. The restaurant was lovely and food delicious. We will be back.

Beautifully furnished rooms - ours had super thick pinstriped wool curtains. The bathrooms were modern and all marble and had underfloor heating - true luxury. I had called to reserve car parking space and they reserved a spot in my name. Menu in the restaurant is a little limited but I liked what we tried (the rabbit pie) and the... More

Thank you for your review and the constructive criticism offered. Our rooms are all decorated and furnished to the same luxurious standard. We do always endeavour to reserve parking for hotel guests, important given the limited free parking we have available. Your comments were conveyed to our Head Chef and acted upon. This does appear to be an exception to... More

Hotel is in building with parts that are very old but with very modern rooms. Location is at north edge of central Oxford, so very convenient to science and engineering buildings of University of Oxford. Easy walk to anywhere else in downtown Oxford. Our room was small for two people. Excellent breakfast was not included with the room. Limited accessibility... More

Thank you for your review Eric. The Old Parsonage combines its historic 17th century origins with the best of modern convenience. It is true to say the original staircases and low doorways are not suitable for everyone, but aside from the four rooms located in the original building, all rooms are accessible via a regular staircase and we do offer... This charming hotel, located an easy walk from the town center, has atmosphere to spare. While the building dates from the 17th century, the guest rooms are modern and accommodating. Enjoy high tea on the outside patio, drinks from their well-stocked bar, or just bask in the heat of the lobby fireplace. And exceptional service.
