Welcoming ambience and first class staff spoilt only by the fact that breakfast was not included in a £285 per night room. When i mentioned this to reception on checking out, they said it was because i had used booking.com... True, but perhaps a view should be taken and breakfast thrown in...

Quite simply the best hotel I have stayed in. Full of charm, character and class, but a nice relaxed atmosphere and not pretentious in the slightest. Particularly liked the library where we sat and enjoyed drinks whilst playing a game.

We were travelling with our teenage daughter so booked a suite. The hotel is in a great location for the short walk into town. We had reserved a parking space and on arrival a name plate indicated which was ours. The hotel is cosy and stylish and has a relaxed feel. Our room was lovelyalthough the glass walls of the...

Thank you for your 5 star review. Really pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your stay and am heartened to learn you plan to return. I do hope we can tempt you next time, with the new menu at the Parsonage Grill? As reassurance to you and others reading, the heating and cooling system does work effectively. I agree...

Put quite simply, the best place to stay in Oxford (Unless it's in College !). The rooms in both the old part of the hotel as well as the new part are really comfortable . The dining room is small but the best food in Oxford. Discuss your room and lunch/dinner requirements with TOBY who will sort out your trip...

Thank you Chris. I humbly accept your compliments (the cheque is in the post, by the way...!) Joking aside, I defer to my colleagues; none of what we do is achievable without the combined talents of all at the Old Parsonage. We look forward to seeing you again soon. Best wishes, Toby

Booked a room at last minute but I regret it. Overpriced and characterless room. I felt no care from staff and the meal was as bland as their lack of interest. No breakfast for that very high price. The library was nice. Some interesting books. The front of the building looked nice as I was leaving.

I'm sorry we weren't to your liking Sharon. We obviously did not meet your expectations and I am confident it is not for lack of want or hospitality on our part. Please do contact me directly if you wish to elaborate. Kind regards, Toby

We had a wonderful stay at Old Parsonage. The room was beautifully appointed. We left wishing we had the same bathroom at home. Heated floors, spacious shower. Just lovely. Downstairs there is a nice bar with a very old fireplace. Very atmospheric. The in-room breakfast was lovely and included vegan options (such as soya and almond milks) which was a...

Thank you. Pleased to hear how much you enjoyed your stay. The fireplace is as old as the Parsonage itself; some 358 years and counting... Glad to see you make mention of vegan options. We are very accommodating and adaptable with our menu choices and are mindful of dietary requirements. We look forward to seeing you again Kind regards, Toby

For the winter there is a glowing fire to ward off the cold damp rain. A lovely roast lunch following the concert in the morning... Definitely coming back late spring to enjoy this wonderful terrace (doesn't look it's best in the rain!)

A lovely winter's summation of the Old Parsonage. I am certain you will enjoy the terrace, come the Spring. We are patiently awaiting wisteria in bloom and the promise of those long, warm, hazy days of summer... Best wishes, Toby

This is the sister hotel to the Old Bank and equally as good. It's only a few minutes walk into the centre of town, with a small car park at the side for those who drive. The hotel has a quirky charm and has been delightfully and stylishly decorated. Our room was small but very comfortable and service was excellent....

Thank you Jane. I particularly like your descriptions of 'quirky charm' and 'stylishly decorated'. I am also pleased you enjoyed tea. Everything is homemade (of course) and I shall pass on your compliments to the kitchen. Kind regards, Toby

Great hotel - nice atmosphere. Very friendly staff. Perfectly situated. Walking distance from all major must-see spots in Oxford. Ideal home base for a comprehensive pub crawl tracing all the favorites of Inspector Morse.

Some fine detective work, Wolfgang. Even as a young DC, Morse had (correctly) deduced that 'beer is brain food'. We are ideally located to explore Morse's Oxford, given our proximity to Baidley College (it says here) and, er, Lady Matilda's. Just can't seem to find them on the map. Evidently more brain food required... Thanks and best wishes, Toby

This is the most charming place to stay in Oxford, It is in a league of it's own. The restaurant is of high quality and the rooms are perfect. It is the first hotel we have ever stayed in, that provides milk in the fridge ( how did they know we live on tea) It is quaint and artistic, simple...

Thank you, for such high praise. Some lovely adjectives used - tempting little soundbites which would read well on our website! We are, of course, keen to maintain tradition but embrace modernity and equality. Naturally, manners prevail and we work collectively and cooperatively. We hope to see you again; you are most welcome! Kind regards, Toby
