My husband and I were at the Acorn for a couple days at and would have happily stayed longer! Our room (one of the en suite rooms) was bigger than I expected, tidy, and comfortable. Breakfast was lovely and Kate was a wonderful hostess--she showed us a map of town and suggested a nice walk, and made herself available if...

Owners are very friendly and helpful. They also have a friendly dog! Rooms are tidy and clean. But simple. Quiet and nice area. Bus stop right outside. Breakfast is nice. They do English breakfasts. Yay! Stayed here twice and will definitely stay here again if I go back to Oxford.

What a lovely, wonderfully situated, well run property. Terrific value. Just had brief contact with Kate; was helpful, pleasant. Really a nice experience. Walked into the center of town both mornings, though if need be I could have hoped on the bus (stop just a few feet away from the Acorn).

I returned to the Acorn Guest House for a second time after about four years and am happy to say it is as I remember it. We had a comfortable room on the first floor at the back of the house overlooking the garden. It was not big but was clean and quiet and everything worked. There was plenty of...

I had to visit Oxford for a funeral. My suit and clothing was creased and needed steam ironing and brushing. KATE and Henry were kind an helped me out with an iron and brush. They also allowed me to leave my bags for collection after the funeral. Guest house was very clean, situated in a quiet area and provided an...

I came to Oxford for job interviews and found this place online - I couldn't believe how affordable it was, especially as it was just a mile from the centre of the city! The place is fairly old-fashioned and kitschy, but I soon felt at home. My room (A1) was a little cold due to a draft, though there was...

I stayed here for two nights and was very impressed. Kate and her team go the extra mile to make you feel at home. They are all very friendly and helpful. Room was cosy and well-maintained. A word of warning- there are shared toilet and shower facilities. However, this didn't really bother me. Check in and check out was a...

Kate is a gorgeous host, friendly and kind. I stayed on my own while touring a show. Touring by myself often feels lonely but staying at Acorn Guest House felt so homely and chatting with Kate really made my time in Oxford feel relaxed and lovely. Comfy bed and warm room. Good breakfast spread. Quiet. Super clean and fresh. Really...
