A reasonably cheap but well placed hotel in the centre of Oxford. Good for a one night stay and the breakfast was excellent. I would stay there again because the price/location combination are ideal. Bed was small but adequate an no view from the bedroom window to speak of, but that wasn't important on a day trip. Decent night's sleep...

We were only staying one night, as we were having an evening out in Oxford and didn't want to travel home the same night. We booked this hotel simply because of its advertised "4 STAR" rating...having stayed in numerous hotels worldwide, we know (or THOUGHT we did!) what to expect from a 4 star hotel. We were absolutely appalled to...

I'm sorry you didn't enjoy your night with us. We are of course a four star bed and breakfast and do not offer the facilities you required. A quick look at our website would have confirmed this and also makes it clear the building layout is not suitable if you have limited mobility. We do feel that our price reflects...

We recently visited our daughter who is studying here for a semester. From airport, we took the bus heading to Oxford and just an easy ride to the final destination. The Buttery hotel is located at the broad street which is only about 5 minutes walk from the central bus terminal. The hotel provides excellent breakfast and is at easy...

I’ve only ever eaten here – always a light snack – at about 1400 on a Sunday afternoon in early April, which is the habitual time I leave my annual conference at Balliol, just across the road from this modern eatery. (I can’t comment on its hotel facilities.) Although the front of the establishment suggests it’s fairly small, there are...

I can't argue with £150 for a room and continental breakfast in such a central location. When I arrive the flush wasn't working in the loo but this was sorted almost immediately. Staff friendly. Rooms clean and tidy. Location will be noisier than others but that's expected when are you are central. Will stay again.

We have stayed at this hotel several times but not for a few years. Sadly, they have made some cuts. The location cannot be beat. It is central to pubs, sights, and shops. However, the full English breakfast has been reduced to continental. Also, substandard tea and these coffee teabags which are undrinkable -- instant coffee would be much better....

Clean and nice hotel in old building, very centrally located. We had a room with very tall windows letting in plenty of light. Breakfast was served in the ground floor café. Staff was very nice and helpful, went out to buy more yogurt when they ran out of it in the morning. No elevator, but grandma age 85 managed all...

Convenient location, right in the heart of the city centre, next to historic university buildings. No parking so we left our car in the park & ride and took the bus. Building is full of character and period features, although stairs might be awkward for some. Room was small but clean and had everything we needed. Breakfast is continental style...

I stayed there just for one night and I loved every minute of it. Incredibly nice Staff, central location in the city and a lovely room. One thing I would like to mention, during the night the party goers outside were in quite a good mood, but that is not the hotels fault. I still felt quiet relaxed and would...

Horrific service, the staff were incredibly rude and had a terrible attitude towards their customers. Not worth the money, will never be returning and wouldn't recommend to anyone. Do not waste your time with this awful place.

This review is very strange, we have not been aware of any unresolved problems recently. We notice this is your first review with tripadvisor and would appreciate if you could let us know the room number you stayed in and what the problem was so we can look into this. We are never happy to think a genuine customer had...
