Met a few old friends here for drinks, dinner and overnight stay. Food and drinks good and reasonably priced. Rooms spacious and clean, breakfast OK. Overall a very good experience with friendly staff and excellent value for money.

The whole place was very tired and could do with refreshing, our room was up three three flights of stairs and we stated that we required a room with a shower, I am not that tall 5 foot 10 inches and it was impossible for me to have a proper shower as you could not stand up as you would...

Stayed 2 nights last Thursday and Friday. Cons- the bar and waiter staff, although overworked, were friendly and tried to keep the customer happy. Problems- 1/ On day of arrival there was no soap and no hot water. We complained that night and next morning got the soap but no hot water till the morning we left. 2/ Dinner on...

Excellent staff work hard to ensure customers have a good stay and the chefs are excellent, however they face a challenge with the infrastructure. Don't assume you will be able to park your car (particularly an estate car) and the car park is very small for the number of rooms. Pack your own soap as the only toiletries in the...

Only here for one night (for business) but wished I could have stayed longer. Four poster bed and excellent size of room. Décor I guess could be called out-dated, but I thought it added to the stately, old fashioned feel of the place. Things like the shoe polisher on the landing were a nice touch. Reasonable breakfast included in the...

This was probably a decent hotel back in the day, but that day was a few decades ago. No furniture without a ding; no rug without a strain or patch; loose fixtures in the loo; etc. The funniest (?) part of the night was when the wall radiators just stopped working. As the room began to cool, I went down...

Perfectly reasonable room rate; comfortable, clean room; busy bar area with friendly staff; good value, more than adequate, carvery meal in the evening; basic, but pleasant breakfast. Situated conveniently for the town centre, with parking area at the rear.

OH WHAT A NIGHT! As we needed a one night stay near Chipping Norton for a hospital visit. I looked on the web and found out good offers for hotels in area. There was the usual Premier inn (not knocking them as there usually OK) But I noticed The Crown and Cushion Wow looks good I thought and breakfast included....

Very pleasant room with four ppster bed and extra lounge and complimentary bottle of wine. Delicious meals served in the hotel bar. Very friendly and helpful staff. Swimming pool was available. Parking was very good and always available. Our room in the lodge building was very quiet.

Located in the high street with hotel parking available, a plus. Room spacious but dated, bed not very comfortable. free WiFi, Staff friendly, food good, but service slow, hotel bar busy. Still ok for short stay. Chipping Norton offers several other places to eat, and is well situated for visiting Moreton in Marsh & Stow on the Wold both very pretty...
