I booked a signature suite, guided by the pictures of one room on the booking page, yet when I arrived, I was told it was not available anymore, and was given a room around half the size, with half as many things in it. I queried this and was told the other had been given away, no discount given, no effort of any type, simply told it is what it is As well as this, the room seems generally tired and tatty, whilst tidy - not clean Don’t advertise and charge for one thing, and then offer something totally different
My friend and I dropped in for a drink at the end of a lovely walk around the lakes. Rather than scan the QR code I asked if we could just order a pink gin, the waiter came out offering a rhubarb gin not a pink gin which although wasn’t what we ordered we agreed on I also asked if they sold diet lemonade to which the waiter came back with aSmall bottle of natural light tonic water. The double gin and a bottle of tonic water times two was brought to the table in half pint glasses not ageing balloon glass is expected to be asked who was paying the bill at £23 that was £4.50 per shot of gin and £2.50. For what is supposed to be high star rated hotel they don’t have pink gin on offer as requested no proper gin glasses and they want to charge over the odds very poor in my opinion
Just got back from a lovely afternoon tea. A Christmas voucher present. Really enjoyed the setting, food choice (four finger sandwiches, soup taster, small quiche slice, scone with cream and jam, lemon cake, chocolate cake and a shortbread biscuit!) and lovely, helpful staff. Excellent.
I stayed here on the 21st of April and although the room and the meal was good, the shower in my room didn’t work, so had to turn up to work without a shower!!! Also I paid £10 for a ‘continental breakfast buffet’ and it was absolutely awful, I received a croissant out of a pack from Aldi up the road, along with a yogurt and an orange, probably cost them about £1.50 and charged me £10!!! Disgusting. And to top it off the manager was very rude and unhelpful. This is not a review just to hate on this hotel, but this is my true experience, and for the price and the fact this is a ‘4 star hotel’ (rated by a car breakdown company...) well I am very disappointed, could of at least had a working shower. Will not be returning and I do not recommend at all.
We had our wedding at Colwick Hall in April after restrictions had lifted to allow for 15 people and an outside sit down meal. This had been postponed from the original date in March. Naomi was brilliant at keeping us informed of the changes and helped things go smoothly. The day itself was amazing. Everything went perfectly and all the staff were so helpful and polite throughout, checking that everything was going okay. We can't wait to come back next year for the evening reception!
