Over priced , compare Hotel prices. Arrived , biscuit crumbs on floor and sock from previous guest by window, obviously not hoovered. No clean towels over four day stay. Breakfast not taken , spartan breahfast area , at £12 , could eat anywhere in York cheaper and better. Not recommended.

Need to be clear at the outset that this reviewer did not actually stay with us. He booked the room for two ladies who had a limited grasp of English and we think it likely that much was lost in translation. Addressing the issues: when we investigated the “rubbish” that the ladies reported we discovered that the “crumbs” were actually...

I hate leaving bad reviews but I would not stay at this b&b again. The bed was a thin, old memory foam on a tatty brown base that looked like it was from the 70's, it was rock hard. I had to shorten my stay as I could not get to sleep. There was also a constant wet patch on...

We are very disappointed that you felt the need to write such a review but it is obvious from its overall tone that you had a very unhappy experience with us. Yours was the only room with a memory foam mattress which being firm is usually most highly thought of. However we do listen to our guests and have taken...

This was our second visit to the Hazelwood, and we were not disappointed. Comfortable and clean accomodation, friendly and helpful staff, and so convenient for walking into the Minster area and the city centre. It has the advantage of having its own small car park, although if you have a long car you might experience some manoeuvring difficulties going round...

The staff at the Hazelwood Hotel could not have been more helpful and welcoming. They attend to every detail - from accommodating special requests, to providing excellent and useful information in a notebook in each room. My room was very clean, and everything seemed new and fresh. The breakfast was delicious and worth the extra fee. I would recommend the...

Stayed 2 nights in Sept '16, it's very quiet - near the end of the dead-end street, yet an easy 5- to 10-min walk to nice restaurants & sights. Limited parking in the back is free but very tight. Staff was friendly and helpful; breakfast was optional so we opted to eat out instead. The building is a very pretty...

Very nice hotel and very well located. Superb staff throughout, friendly and quietly efficient. Super breakfast and enough choice without going over the top. Clean well equipped rooms. If this hotel suits your budget then book it you will not be disappointed. We will return and also recommend to friends and family. Thanks for a great stay.

Having decided to take a short break in York we chose The Hazelwood for it's central location and reasonably priced accommodation. Easy to locate we had previously advised the owners we would be arriving by car and they had parking available in an area ordinarily for residents. They were also able to allow us to leave our car the following...

Lovely small hotel with excellent location to parts of York of interest to tourists. Also close to restaurants and a grocery store. Employees especially welcoming and friendly. My room was lovely and had everything I would need or want. I recommend this hotel and would definitely stay there again.

The Hazelwood was a beautiful property in a quiet side street on a few minutes walk from the centre of York. The room we had was room 1, it was very tastefully decorated, very clean with a lovely large comfy bed and spacious shower room, with complimentary shower goodies, there was nothing else we could have wanted for our stay....
