The location was somewhat inconvenient for the heart of York itself. The room was spacious but suffered from traffic noise, facing a busy street. It was overpriced and there was some mould in the bathroom because there was no fan or window in the bathroom. There was also a hole in the wall of the bathtub that expanded like a...

We booked this place via the York Tourist Centre in town at the last minute - the only available accommodation on a holiday weekend. It could have been a tin shed and we would have been grateful for it. But we were pleasantly surprised - the place is lovely, and full of country charm. Our room was spacious, spotless and...

Came down from Scotland for the races, nothing booked. Took advice from landlord at the wonderful Vintage Hotel Scotch Corner to head to Tadcaster Road. Happened upon this beautiful wee place. Loved the accommodation in the old stables, loved the breakfast, loved the location near the racecourse. Very quiet as it is set back from the main thoroughfare. The hosts...

This B&B really captures the essence of York. Great rooms and a wonderful breakfast and within each reach of York center on the bus which stops right outside. The added feature is a glass of whiskey in the lounge before retiring for the night. The National Railway Museum and York Minster are must see attractions. You can also wander around...

We stayed here for three nights in July. The place is very cosy and homely, and the rooms are big and decorated in an old, flowery and comfortable style. The owners are very nice people, and it was pleasant to have a little chat in the morning while serving breakfast. And the breakfas was great! There is a variety to...

First things we noticed about York on a racing weekend was the high cost of accommodation. We stay in Leeds at the Holiday Inn and normally pay around £85 B & B, in York they wanted £140 room only. We did not have long to look around as we needed accommodation to visit family in the local hospice. We found...

I stayed here with my boyfriend for two nights at the end of May, for a trip to the races and meeting up with friends. Accommodation is cosey, homely and comfy, although a bit dated. But had everything we needed. We had a stable cottage, covered in red roses, which was delightful. Breakfast was perfect, great selection of cereals, and...

My girlfriend and I stayed here whilst attending the races at the end of May 2014. The rooms are very cosy, quiet, warm, clean and spacious. Granted the decor is slightly dated especialy for a couple in their 20's but it had a very homely feel. The service we received was fantastic and Richard the owner was very helpful towards...

spacious rooms, comfortable beds and although decor is dated - who cares! Rcihard and his wife were lovely and extremely helpful. Best breakfast I have ever had at a B&B, poached eggs were perfect. What a lovely place and couple.
