This is the second time we have stopped at the Churchill and once again we have enjoyed our stay. This was a trip to York to celebrate my wife's Birthday and she was happy that I had chosen to revisit the Hotel. The location of the Hotel is ideal and a short walk into the city. The only issue I...

Quirky, wonderful hotel ! Got married in York in August and booked the hotel for 10 of our family members to join us in celebrating. We arrived on the Friday to a warm welcome . The staff were very helpful throughout our stay. Breakfast was fantastic with plenty of choice. We had arranged the private dining room for our return...

We've just enjoyed a lovely two days here. The bedroom was great, modern and clean, breakfast very tasty. We were made to feel very welcome and will return. Being able to park up and walk to all attractions was handy.

After staying here last week. I must write about our wonderful stay. The staff did everything to make our stay enjoyable. The hotel is very nice and modern. York is a wonderful city. About 10 min walk to centre. We will be returning in the next couple of months.

I am emailing to complain about the very poor service we received this last weekend. My wife and I stayed at your hotel for two nights to celebrate her birthday. We arrived at 7 p.m. on Fri. 6 Jan 17. The receptionist was on the phone and eventually after several minutes acknowledged our presence. At 9:23 p.m. we walked into...

I post beneath my email reply for reader's perusal. I apologise in advance that I'm afraid I've felt the need to again go somewhat on the offensive. ''Dear Ian Burl, I must confess that your Tripadvisor review came as somewhat of a surprise as I was unaware of an email of complaint. I have subsequently discovered that your initial email...

Fantastic location for a short break in York. Great value room with view of York Minster. Attentive staff and first rate breakfast. Definitely returning for another short break in the not too distant future.

Spent 2 nights in this boutique hotel, and by boutique I mean hovel one step below a travel lodge type hotel. Faulty towers hotel would be an apt description with most of the staff demonstrating basil faultys attitude to paying guests. Rude and unhelpful beyond words

The location of this hotel is fantastic. Just a few minutes walk to the restraurants, shops and pubs. We will definitely stay again in the future. The rooms were spotless, bed was really comfortable and service great!

We were in York for only one night but our stay was very comfortable and the staff were pleasant and accommodating. We loved the bulldog lamps and the rooms were comfortable and quiet. Thanks Churchill!

After paying over 125 per night for a room we were expecting what is described as a boutique hotel on the website. What we found in fact was that after the boutique entrance hall, the word boutique would be better changed to old fashioned and dated. Another issue upon arrival was the charge for parking! The hotel has its own...
