Good to have a reserved parking space as York can be difficult to find a somewhere to park. The accommodation was clean and well presented and the breakfast was...

We arrived by train from London and walked with our luggage to the guest house in a very easy 10 minutes. There are a few short series of steps to climb to get on and off the foot bridge so keep that in mind. We were met by the friendly owners, Jane and Kingsley. Kingsley, by the way, cooks a...

Just returned from a weekend stay at Abbey Guest House. The room was immaculate and the views over the river were stunning. Breakfast was delicious traditional English breakfast and there was also a selection of cereals an yoghurts etc. Very close to city centre. Would definitely stay again

We are now planning our stay in 2017, everything about the guest house is...

From our window we could see the rowers and ducks in the river and people ambling along the path. Truly idyllic. The food was excellent. The garden was beautiful. The only drawback is the narrow steep flight of stairs leading to the rooms. Even that wouldn't prevent me from giving five stars.

Abbey Guest House is very well located and just a short walk from the station. We have been coming to York for many years and stayed in numerous hotels and guest houses and this is by far the nicest. We found it to be clean, welcoming and very friendly and we have in fact booked a return visit. Highly recommended.

My wife & I stayed at this Guest House from 5/8/16 till 15/8/16. a long stay of 10 days. We had previously used a now closed Guest House for the previous 10 or more years, staying over 20 times there. So we did not know what to expect at this new abode. To state that we were totally delighted is...
