Day out at York races, one of the usual pubs to call into making our way to the course abt 11am. Not too many punters in though outside rear was full. Lots of bar staff falling over each other. Please next time employ 2/3 people who know what they are doing !. Handpull was nothing too spectacular though drinkable. Prices...

My parents booked this Hotel as part of their overseas trip back in February and thought all was okay. Received email two days before arrival saying Credit card was faulty and booking Cancelled. Tried to call property phone line not working. No other way to contact property..... Yes, probably should have not bothered, but given its location, and desperate to...

We stayed here for 2 nights and absolutely loved the place. It's old and quirky rooms are perfect. Centrally located for all attractions in York and within a short walking distance of some lovely restaurants and bars. All the staff have been friendly and accommodating. Really can't fault it. Lovely historic building

The building and location are nice and the rooms are good sizes But that's where the good points end On arrival on Tuesday the landlady came across as if we was a inconvenience for being there (about midday) and seemed very icy We booked a extra bed in 1 of our 3 rooms and a cot in the other to...

I made this booking ( via booking.com) a month ago as a surprise for my son and his girlfriend. I received an e mail today ( Easter Monday the day of the trip) informing me that the Bay Horse were unable to honour the booking ! As a frequent visitor to York i will never consider staying there again !...

Stayed here with my husband for the night as a birthday treat to York. Car park was included in the cost and they let us stay after checking out for a few more hours. Room was a good size, bathroom was big. Needs a shelf to put your toiletries on. Bed wasn't great as it was 2 singles joined together...

I have rated the bay horse a 5 for location and value for money, free parking a stones throw from mickklegate 👍and really well cooked breakfast and lovely staff, if you are hoping for a luxury getaway for 50 quid a night you won't find it anywhere in York. We stayed in room 4 ( the only room that is...

What a sad excuse for a what could be a lovely little local pub. We asked if they were still doing food they said we'd just missed the kitchen closing, it was 6.30pm. The place was soulless, just a couple of drunk guys propping up the bar, chatting loudly but not caring about their language. The beer was expensive and...

Enjoyed our stay here. Was in a good location short walk to the centre. Free parking which was a good bonus. Our room was clean and well equipped, nice large bathroom with over bath shower. The full English breakfast was great. We will be back.
