Stayed over the Easter weekend with my partner. We stayed in room 1 which has a four poster bed. The room was lovely, spacious and great to be so easily accessible on the ground floor. Fantastic bathroom and complimentary robes. This is a great hotel/guest house, but it could be even better. Lovely owners, but they also own the pub next door and...

Very good location to the city, within walking distance, very clean and clean bedding, and plenty of tea and coffee in the room. Amazing owners, and friendly, the rooms have remote control t.v and kettles, also towels and toiletries.

If you want to be looked after and made to feel one of the family this b&b is the one for you. Nothing is too much trouble. The staff are very attentive. Breakfast more than excellent. The owners are gradually up grading the rooms. We would definitely stay here again. Thanks for a lovely weekend xx

Avoid this hotel. Booked 2 nights over new year. Booked in got 4 poster room on ground floor, the room was filthy the bathroom looked like it had not been cleaned. The decor is just a joke. They have spoiled what could be a decent b & b, the whole place needs a revamp to be sympathetic to the building....

First impressions are important and walking into a room that greets you with an unfriendly sign was not a good start. The room itself was reasonably clean, but not aired. The deco included flowery wallpaper, tacky paintings, plastic flowers and cheap furniture. Our room was on the ground floor, please see photo for view. We stayed two nights and were...

What a lovely hotel for the price, we booked at the last min and could not grumble for the price we paid. Really good sized room and bathroom (i have stayed in much much smaller ones in York for a higher price). Everthing you need in the room including tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and toiletries. Dressing gowns were also provided...

If you're looking for a no frills cheap base for exploring York and the surrounding area then this is ideal. Our room was clean but in need of some TLC. Cobweb on one light fitting, two bulbs not working on the other, paper starting to peel and shower head ready for replacing. The owners and staff are nice and friendly...
