My husband and I booked a two night stay at the Bishopgarth Guest House as we planned to go to York Races. The guest house is in a great location only 10 mins from the races and about the same from the city centre. We were made to feel very welcome and the owners were very friendly and helpful. The...

The guesthouse is located close to the city centre just 10-15 minutes walk. Our room was comfortable, very clean, and pleasently decorated with a good shower and plenty of facilities (hairdrier, shower gel etc). We received a warm welcome from the owners Louise and James who offered information on local attractions and provided a map of the city centre. The...

Just spent 3 days at Bishopgarth and can't praise it enough. Louise and James, the owners, were friendly and welcoming. Nice rooms and very comfy bed. The cooked breakfast in the morning was a great start to the day. Perfect location too as approx 15mins walk from York centre. We would certainly stay there again and would definitely recommend.

The room was pretty clean and the bed was comfortable. The room was fairly outdated, the TV needs to be updated to at least have freeview. The shower was awful, not very powerful and it went from extreme hot to extreme cold, with not much middle ground, so we avoided it for the rest of our stay. We left our...

We were greeted very warmly on arrival and upon enquiring about town centre/eating options were given very useful information and maps from our hosts. Rooms were all you could have asked for, B&B situated short walking distance from town & attractions, plus a wonderful breakfast was an added bonus! Would definitely stay here again.
