I would not recommend anyone to stay here. Despite the room being clean, it really was very basic with old fashioned furniture and fittings. The main problem was the moths, when I arrived about 4pm I killed 3 moths, I returned later in the night and killed another 5 but there were still at least 7 more on the very...

Arrived Friday night at 7.30 pouring down with rain both absolutely soaked. Arrived at a bar to collect keys was taken back out in the rain to a door up a side road to be greeted with a staircase not an issue but after 8 hours driving and soaking wet wasn't in my finest mood. Taken to our room which...

This was a one night stay for business. We picked this for its excellent location and price. But still we expect at least to be able to sleep at night with a ok level of comfort. First they had a bed missing from our room. As we are a mix team with work so required 2 beds. We popped out...

We stayed there around Easter time when going to visit our daughters, who study at the University of York. Let me just say that we were only booked for approximately four days, but what a miserable, horrific, awful four days it was in this place. It was definitely not as advertised, and I would warn you away from the pictures...

Stayed 2 nights in one of the rooms on the 1st floor. Room was clean enough. No shower curtain though which meant having to angle the shower so not to soak the floor. Nice big TV beds very comfy. No noise on the Friday night from the pub below, sat could hear people partining till around 1.30am but nothing major....

I have been to York several times and always find that accommodation is very expensive. I found this place by chance online and the price seemed very reasonable for a Saturday stay over. When we arrived we weren't sure we had found the right place as there is no sign just a door however we called the owner and he...

Good points were central location, free parking, minutes walk away from key places. Staff were all friendly and quickly replaced broken TV and provided us with a fan. However the bad, the mattresses were so soft you could feel the springs, they really do need to invest in new mattresses. The shower still had previous persons belongings and evidence it...

To be fair, when I saw the description on booking.com it did say it was in a 'lively area'. The Waterfront is at the end of a grubby side street, right by the river. There's a pub below it and another opposite and a night club (Stone Roses) further up the street. We stayed on a Friday and Sat night...
