Very friendly comfortable pub. Ate lunch on our arrival and breakfast the following morning. all good food, delicious and plenty of it. The pun is just inside the city walls, ideal for sightseeing. The pub is very quirky and in keeping with the lovely city of York.

Positives first, Great food both evening meal and breakfast, delicious and piping hot, excellent and very helpful staff, great location for shops, cathedral and general sightseeing. Not so positives, our room was very small, it was adequate for a 1 night stay but we stayed 2 nights and it was starting to feel cramped, the room was cleaned to a... More

Nice accomodation, the rooms were very carefully and tastefully decorated and had everything you could need , hair dryer iron and ironing board. Also in the most perfect part of York right under the old walls. I would like to go back in the summer as the garden looked so inviting. Definitely a nice and surprising find .

I took my husband away for a night for a surprise. I chose the hotel mainly for the location which is very central literally a minute from York Minster. I booked via Booking.com and there was no information about parking on the booking. A few days before I phoned to check and was informed there was no parking but could... More

We usually stay in the Guy Fawkes another hotel in this group but decided to give this hotel a whirl for this one night visit. Very small bar area but selection of real ale good. The eating rooms are also small inside. This time of year the beer garden is little used but must be excellent in the summer alongside... More

Advertised as luxury - i would describe as bijou and boutique. The room was very small but clean and well appointed. The ensuite bathroom was down a long very narrow hall. Not for the claustraphobic. Great breakfast and welcoming staff.
