Sanders yard is a lovely place to stay, with gorgeous rooms, lots of quirky touches but....the mattress which is probably the most important factor was the worst mattress myself and my husband have ever slept on! We stayed in jade attic with two children. As soon as we laid on it we could feel the springs sticking into our backs...

I would highly recommend Dove cottage. It's family and dog friendly and the staff were excellent. The cottage was cosy and in a ideal location for exploring Whitby. Comfy beds and a great shower!! We also had delicious lunch delivered from the cafe.

Recently stayed at Sanders Yard for 2 nights. Great, large room (number 1) which was very clean with views over courtyards at back and front. Lovely breakfast served in the café area and fabulous, friendly staff who were very helpful. Also, Sanders Yard is very dog friendly, allowing dogs in the room and in an area of the café where...

As I write this review I am laid here in the comfiest double bed I've ever had the pleasure of laying on. Booked last week, room 1. Absolutely spotlessly clean. High beautiful bed, beautiful bathroom with a huge bath (which has been simply amazing) a very enjoyable stay! Breakfast was devine ( although I must say when the waitress says...

What a lovely place. Beautifully maintained, friendly, quiet and with really lovely, helpful owners. Just yards from the quaint historic cobbled streets and the harbour. First time we stayed there and first time in Whitby. We will be back!

Booked a double room for Thursday 12th November last minute and what a lovely surprise to be upgraded to a cottage in Sanders yard. I had picked up a leaflet from their beautiful café on a previous visit and so glad that I did. The 3 storey Cottage tucked away in a courtyard behind the café was so full of...

My husband and I booked 2 nights for our anniversary. On arrival we were taken up to our room (Jade's attic) which was a wonderfully long room with the bed at one end and numerous windows letting in the light. There were plenty supplies of tea/coffee and biscuits and some fresh flowers in our room. The bathroom was a enormous...

This was my first visit to this establishment. I was given the room I booked which was as seen in the photograph. Staff were personable and ready to help. Breakfast was good with a good selection; plenty to set you up for the day. The only really minor gripe was that I had to ring to confirms my booking as...
