Called in here about 11-30 friday 28th Oct, ordered tea and scones for 2, sat outside and just took in the views, (weather nice and sunny) Could have stopped her all day so relaxing. At 12-00 people started arriving and filling up quick, was told that hot food was being served now, meals looked amazing.

Called in for a brew on Friday afternoon of Bank Holiday weekend. Lovely location but as all the outside tables were taken we went inside to queue for our brew. We only ordered a scone and pot of tea for two. I was grudgingly offered two tiny pats of butter for the scone but there was no offer of a... More

We had a nice time at Abbey house. There's a well kept garden with a few pieces of sculpture, the ancient grave yard, sandpit and cafe which were all worth the 186 steps to get to! From the cafe garden we had a Beautiful view across Whitby. There was the ruins of the Abbey and old building adjacent which we... More

Amazing. The staff arranged all the activities for the children and were professional throughout gaining the respect of not only the children but the staff too. The children experienced activities that they had never done before and had a fabulous time.

This review is for the Abbey House Tea rooms. Great views of Whitby. The service and actual food is nothing to shout about. The chips were over cooked and had probably been stood a while. The bread for the sandwich didn't taste fresh. However as mentioned the views do make up for it.

Stayed here last night (02-05-14) in order that we could see Big Country play Whitby Pavilion. First off its approx 10-15 min walk from the venue and the 199 steps leading from the town to the house are not hard. The accomodation has parking at no extra charge, very friendly staff, a warm welcome and we were in a private... More

Stayed here for a weekend at the end of jan with my partner. The location is fantastic and the views are really nice too. The room was good value for money, although they should mention on the yha website that you need to pay £2 to hire a towel! IF we had known that we would have brought our own... More

You can't beat the views or the price for this place. Everyone is very friendly. It is clean, has a nice tea room and the views are simply to die for. The location is great, situated next to the Abbey and we could walk all around town from here easily. Parking is pretty easy too.

The YHA Abbey House (adjacent to the Abbey) runs a tea room/cafe. We've always found staff very friendly and helpful. We were only in need of coffee and cake on the couple of visits this past week but there is hot food on offer too. There are picnic tables/seats outside and, on a good day, there is nothing better than... More
