A little mishmash and not made clear about booking in but our room was small but very nice and clean. The hotel staff were warm and welcoming and the food delicious. Quite a steep walk up to the lodge so not disabled friendly.

Location is excellent, after that our experience was disappointing to say the least. Upon arrival, we were thrilled to be staying in this charming, historical hotel, and were then immediately handed a key by an officious member of staff and directed to 'Bagdale Lodge' an annexe 50 meters up a steep road; A detached building with a view of the...

I knew we had booked into the lodge but unfortunately the room I had was so small that I'm sure it was meant for hobbits. I had booked two rooms and the other was substantially larger and quite pleasant. No views as such from both these rooms as the lodge is situated just in front of Whitby hospital. The location...

We loved bagdale hall, the atmosphere is so calm and friendly, but the food is why you would go , wonderful, we had the fillet steak and peppercorn sauce. But I would say perhaps have more chicken on the menu? Still can't wait to go again. from one mr and mrs dent to another thank you for looking after us.

This hotel was very well priced and when we got there we were pleasantly surprised. It is in a perfect position, within walking distance of quayside and pier. Round the corner from railway but has its own car park if travelling by car which is a bonus. Room was in annexe and up to date, comfortable and quiet. Staff were...

Family weekend. We were booked in the adjoining annex. A short walk round the back (but honestly - no further than when we have had to walk along endless corridors at some larger hotel chains.) Our party had rooms 16 and 18. Lovely rooms - large four poster beds large bathrooms small seating area. large clean bathrooms. We also stayed...

The hotel is located very close to the heart of the town on the west side of the Esk. The bus and train stations are a very short walk away and so it was ideal for our needs. There were two small car parks which were free to use and we were able to get a space quite easily, but...

Excellent Location. We were in the Lodge up the hill from the Hotel, which was quiet making for a good nights sleep. The room was clean and comfortable as was the bathroom and en-suite. Food was very nice but the menu wasn't overloaded with choice. The staff were very pleasant and helpful if somewhat under trained at times.

I've tried all the hotels and B&B's in Whitby, and this is the best. Excellent location with free parking and expect a typical Yorkshire welcome. ok...the pillows were a bit like flour sacks but for a short stay that was no problem. Good value, and recommended by me!
