A friend and I visited this hotel 13/14/15 Oct 2016. On arrival we thought it was a touch old fashioned, once settled in we realised it was very English, traditional, immaculate and very friendly. Car parking provided, small charge but great advantage in Whitby. The breakfast was outstanding. White linen tablecloths and napkins, waitress service, all of whom were extremely attentive...

Great location, great room (four poster) great staff. Would go back. Value for money all round. Sort walk to the beach and the main area in the town. Lots to see and do. Interesting and relaxing. Harbour walks are great and lovely fish and chips almost everywhere.

The Newtons started Saxonville as a bed-and-breakfast in 1946 and have since developed and expanded it into a first class family hotel to the highest standards, now run by the third generation of the family. The hotel is maintained in perfect condition, not a tracked carpet, a marked piece of furniture or a chipped edge of paintwork anywhere. It is...

Whitby in the Summer is pricey so we paid a bit for this stay. Parking is an extra fiver. My dad, in his 70's, had stayed here and recommended it. For my wife and I we found it a bit dated and expensive. Rooms and halls need to be refurbished. Walk to town is 10-15 mins and although there's a...

We had never stayed at this hotel before but my goodness what a little gem. From the minute we arrived at reception until departing two days later there was absolutely nothing you could fault. The room was a double room of good size extremely clean, well furnished, with television and the neutral decoration was relaxing in itself. Coffee, tea and...

We arrived at the Saxonville Hotel before 15:00 and were able to park outside in a disk zone until we completed our check in. We were checked in by a lovely young lady called Sam. She showed us to our room, number 15 on the first floor the room was large and luxurious and so very clean. It had a...

We have been to this hotel several times during the last few years. My late husband loved this place. My daughter also appreciated the old fashioned service. Now I have introduced my fiancée and hope for many visits in the future. Looking forward to our next visit Margaret Handsley

If you want a boutique style hotel this is not the place for you! It is on West Cliff which is a pleasant walk from the Old Town. (Subject to weather!) The hotel was clean and traditionally decorated and our room pleasant. We were even able to get wifi in our room. We ate in the restaurant every evening we...

A nice place to base your Whitby adventure. Friendly people great food . The only negatives I can add is the wifi doesn't work in the rooms , a small problem but one I feel needs attention as it is advertised on the website.
