We had a one night stay here from a special offer, D B&B, absolute bargain. We had a nice room on the second floor, quite spacious, larger than average, with TV and hospitality tray and separate bathroom and toilet, both with wash basins, so quite useful. There was what looked like a part eaten biscuit under the dresser (I didn't...

Beautiful building with wood panelling and comfy chairs and sofas. The food was of a really high standard and served in Yorkshire portions! A glass of sherry on arrival was most welcome. All the staff were very obliging. Our deal in January was excellent value and we made the most of the lovely walks in the area.

Booked through booking.com for one night, mainly chose this hotel as it had parking - most hotels in Whitby don't. Was pleasantly surprised as its off the beaten track along a narrow country lane. The location is good if you want a quiet night/break as no passing traffic. Arrived a little early so got a cab into Whitby - had...

We went to the hotel on a winter break offer which we upgraded to a 4poster suite ,the room was well worth the extra ,very comfortable .The service was mostly good hard work to find anyone behind the bar early evening. The downside for us was the food not really good enough for this quality of hotel ,if we went again...

Nice relaxing feel to the place. All the staff are friendly, obliging and ' not in your face.' Nice log fire in the bar area, which we didn't give up until the last moment. Our room was clean and tidy and....warm, which is unusual for a lot of places, they leave the guest to turn up the heating; warm to...

Stayed here with my partner last night. We booked last minute and got a good deal, £80 bed breakfast and evening meal for two. The hotel is lovely and very clean, my only critasism would be the lack of choice for veggies for the evening meal. Cheers john and Jill

Re-visited this hotel for my recent birthday after ten years or so since our last visit. It has recently been bought by new owners after a period in the hands of the receivers as the previous owners went bankrupt. The premises are still in a lovely location, although a bit out of the town centre of Whitby. The hotel and...

We had three nights here this week using their winter offer. This offer is wonderful value. We had a large room with traditional heavy furniture that suited the age of the place. The staff were very welcoming - all local people who could suggest where to go etc. The meals were good quality but really too much for us to finish...

Pre booked Sunday lunch, on arrival the hotel is stunning, with lovely grounds. Very welcoming host onsite and nothing too much trouble. Food is lovely, also get a jug of water with your meal so ideal if not wanting to have an alcoholic drink. Nice relaxed atmosphere. After lunch had a walk around the hotel, it has stunning views from...

An absolutely lovely experience. The self contained annexe was very useful as I had a small child. It was spacious and very clean. The breakfast was fabulous and the staff couldn't do enough for us. Thank you very much, we will return!
