Couldn't fault the surroundings or service. Loved the conservatory at the rear and beautiful grounds. Room spacious and well appointed but no air conditioning! Food was good, but did not quite live up to expectations. Have had better scallops and the fish fillet had bones. Lemon tart and sorbet was the best of the dinner courses. Overall though a good...

My wife and I visited for a two night stay during May after a recommendation from a friend. This hotel is absolutely superb in every way, we cannot recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning. The hotel is set in its own tranquil grounds just off the main coast road between Whitby and Sandsend. It is modern with...

We were disappointed we weren't in the main hotel so in the morning for breakfast, walking in the drizzle to the restaurant wasn't great. Attentive staff and lovely room but as I say, London prices for Whitby?

From the moment we walked into the hotel the service was amazing from management all the way through to the very attentive waiting staff. The food was amazing and the rooms clean and tidy. The walking in the area is highly recommended. We walked one day from the hotel through Whitby on to Robin Hoods Bay then to Ravenscar and...

Just returned from a late booking we made for a 2 night stay at Raithwaite Estate this week. What can I say....this hotel truly exceeded all of our expectations. On arrival, we were impressed by the buildings and grounds within the estate and we were able to check into our room earlier than expected. We had a room in The...

We were very disappointed with this country house hotel. We stayed in 'The Keep' which is a poorly designed modern building - it is soulless, poorly insulated for sound, and overall uninspiring - we expected more. The evening meal in the 'Hunters Lodge' was OK but nothing special. The main building may be better but I would not recommend 'The...

Spent two nights in The Keep and to say it was fantastic seems a bit week. Our friends stayed as well, their room was in the main hotel, the layout was a bit of a surprise as The Keep is at one end, as you enter the estate and then further up the road is The Main Hall. Seemed a...
