This is a great little pub situated on the East side, a bit further to walk but certainly worth it, Good range of drinks at reasonable prices. Dog friendly. The bar staff are amiable and friendly. I also like the fact that you get a bowl of nibbles with your drinks. Good music on the big screen. Good atmosphere.

This pub is on the far side of the river, but so worth the short walk. It appears to be a micro climate over that side and the pub itself both inside and in the outside seating area are brilliant. Very well kept pub! Enjoyed our two visits there last bank holiday.

Just on the edge of Whitby town across from harbour, lovely views, friendly staff & good service. Large tables on ground floor so great if you are in a group. My father in law lives in Whitby so we always visit the middle earth as it's one of our favourite pubs.

In lots of ways this is a quirky little pub with a reasonable range of beers. Lindsey behind the bar was excellent. She was very attentive with an excellent taste in music (a fellow Northern Soul fan).

Daughter married at Whitby Abbey and we held the reception upstairs at the Middle Earth Tavern. It was PERFECT!!! Just the right size and atmosphere for our small gathering and we couldn't have wished for a more friendly, welcoming and accommodating hosts and staff. They were wonderful on a wonderful day.

Visit this pub everytime we are in Whitby. The staff are very friendly and welcoming. Had a good laugh with a few of the locals too. The real fire is lovely when it's a little cold and wet. They have a pool table and a darts board. You get a free bowl of snacks with your first round which is...

We enjoy calling into this pub when in whitby... it is a little 5min walk out of town but worth a visit... It has been refurbished in the last couple of years and modernised... It still has seats outside (where it is lovely to sit in the sun) or inside, and offers real ales plus a variety of other drinks......

Often visit this recently renovated landmark Whitby Pub. I like it for the good selection of quality Real Ales and the friendly banter with the bar staff. Friendly locals. You definitely don't get that 'American Werewolf in London' feeling when you walk in for the first time.
