Booked in for a late Sunday afternoon lunch - 6 kids within the party - so a large table - the service was excellent - the staff were very welcoming, drinks orders were taking and arrive quickly - the menu for Sunday is either from a set menu with different options for either 1, 2 or 3 courses. All at...

We stayed here on our way to the Lake District. It is a cosy pub with lots of original features. The room was lovely and had a tiny bathroom 1 person at a time but it was adequate. We had a meal which was nice and the pub had a great atmosphere as they had live music on. A couple...

We visited the Lion for tea on a cold wet Monday evening and we were greeted with a warm welcome. The bar man made us feel very welcome and found us and our toddler a table. The menu had a good selection that was well priced. The children's menu had plenty of choice. There was even wet towels to dry...

We had never been to Settle before nor The Lion. We were agreeably enchanted by the place and the warm welcome at the hotel. The food was excellent and the draft beers. The accommodation was comfortable and the shower, though tiny, was superb. We thought parking would be a problem but there is a nearby public car park. A bit...

Stayed at the Lion with 3 friends. Both rooms were very well appointed. We had a great nights sleep in our room. Our colleagues however were woken early by quarry lorries rumbling past. We were at the back of the hotel & they were on the roadside. The evening meal was v good & there was a fine selection of...

Four of us spent three days in a holiday cottage in Settle and had planned to try out a different place for all our meals. After our first meal at The Lion, we found ourselves returning for almost every other meal. Superb value for money, it offered beautifully tasty meals served by the friendliest staff. Well worth a visit.

We had lunch, dinner and breakfast at the Lion over the course of a few days in Settle. Lunch and breakfast were eaten in the main bar area and were wonderful; well prepared and presented with style and friendly attention to detail. We had dinner in the restaurant area, which was excellent. The menu is imaginative and varied; the food...

I spent 2 nights here passing through on a solo hiking trip. It's right in the center of town with a warm pub plus restaurant plus lounge and have an amusing special welcome for dogs with dry towels and biscuits available. I enjoyed my room, the fine food and the friendly staff.
