Upon booking into the hotel the receptionist was very smart and helpful, she changed my room from a single to a double and it was all on the same level as I am disabled and cannot climb stairs. The room was clean and tidy a very large comfortable double bed with clean bed linen.
I then ventured into the dining room for something to eat and settled on Chicken and chips, the restaurant was very Clean and tidy, with coffee and tea making facilities, the bar was also well stocked and also very tidy and supremely clean. The staff in the restaurant where happy had a welcoming smile and service was swift.
The food was hot even though the chicken was slightly over cooked, however that can be overlooked because of the great welcoming happy staff.
In the morning breakfast was a self service style of service. sFood was hot, plentiful and well stocked, sausage, bacon, mushrooms, beans, scrambled egg and cook your own toast, also with tea coffee making facilities. Again the dining room and service area was very clean.
After breakfast I tried to log into my laptop as I was having trouble using the WIFI and this is were the staff went above and beyond to try and help resolve this issue Mark in particular and the waitress and even the cook all tried to help and resolve this issue.
Now I can see and read several reviews on this Travelodge and they are all incorrect in my opinion, my rooms was well heated, clean and tidy, I also needed a phone charger and Mark on reception loaned me 1 to charge my phone.
I can read the reviews running the hotel down, now did anyone go to the reception to ask to change rooms or make the manager aware of the problems in the room. With regards to the distance from the train station it's utter rubbish that it's too far or the taxi is too expensive, I have had a spinal cord tumour and have to use a walking stick also cannot walk very far, so I found the 3.50 taxi fair very reasonable from the train station to the hotel very cheap, he also carried my bags into the hotel as did the staff into my room.
For the price and the assistance of the staff especially from Mark the cook and the help from the reception staff made my hotel staff a joy even though it was for one night with breakfast.

This hotel provides the basics. A bed to sleep in and a bathroom. But beyond that there’s not much more. For £36 a room I suppose you almost get what you pay for. We got back to the hotel around 1.30am to discover our key card did not work when unlocking the front doors. We called several times before finally getting answered. The night Porter came to reception and opened the door, we informed her that our card was not working, she then proceeded to argue with us and tell us that it was working despite the fact we had been outside trying unsuccessfully for 20 minutes!! After a long debate she offered to exchange the key card however we were leaving the next morning so this didn’t seem worth while. I understand that these things happen but didn’t expect to be spoken to like that. One last little thing was the body & hair wash is awful. If you stay here take your own shampoo and conditioner or you may live to regret it. Other than that it was an overall comfortable stay the room was well cleaned and the first gentleman we spoke to on reception was lovely. We had a nice night away over all. This hotel is good for a short stay when all you want to do is sleep.

Stayed here as a drop off point to access various places on the east coast (Great Yarmouth, Winterton-on-Sea, etc). Had the dog with us so that was a £20 per night extra charge. Hotel is easy to find but parking is a faff. we used the nearby Rose Lane car park which only cost us £3 for overnight parking (7pm to 8:45am) so really good.

It’s in a busy centre spot with loads of takeaway offerings in close proximity. It being a city centre hotel room was small but tidy. We arrived on the hottest day of the year and had to get extra fans as windows don’t open (much) and the room didn’t have Aircon!

Overall not a bad stay - just room was hot and stuffy!

Just back from a 3 night mid-week stay, my 2nd holiday at this hotel. Lots of staff on hand, all friendly and helpful. I'd requested an inward facing room so on the 2nd floor I'd a very quiet stay. In fact there seemed to be very few other guests in residence, based on the numbers at breakfast and dinner. This hotel is ideally placed for people arriving by train. The rooms are best left with the curtains shut during the day to keep them a bit cooler. A portable fan was provided and the comfortable bed was made up with a single sheet - the duvet was rolled up and stored in a bag if required. Everything was in well maintained and the hot water was instant. Only downside was the bedrooms still have the older hard plastic seats, so not very comfortable for very long. I'd stay here at the right price if back in Norwich again.

We booked a family room for one night whilst staying in the area to visit local attractions with our children.

The desk staff were pleasant on check in. When we got to our room it was clear that it had not been cleaned properly. There was breakfast cereal spilt on the floor and some of the sides had a layer of dust. Our son dropped a toy down the side of his makeshift bed and when we went to retrieve it the floor was covered in dust and hair. There was mould in the kettle in the room. The bathroom had a horrible stale smell, like having a public bathroom adjoining your room, and the bathroom floor was dirty.

When I brought this all to the attention of the desk staff they offered to have the room hoovered and gave us a new kettle. I assume the room does not get lots of use but the condition it was presented in was unacceptable. I would definitely not stay at the hotel again and will avoid Travelodges where possible in the future.

The best part of my stay was checking out. The room was too hot, even with the fan turned up full speed and the windows open. It was hotter than a Dreamboys show.

The shower was also of poor quality. The drain was clearly clogged up meaning I had to shower quickly to avoid water going everywhere.

The room overlooked the busy POW road. This meant I had the opportunity to enjoy loud drunken people at 3 in the morning. Usually I don't mind listening to this kind of thing but I prefer being the one who is drunk and loud! The traffic noise was a constsnt feature too. These noises were not just loud engines making brum brum sounds but also included crap music performed by untalented morons. They may have passed a BTec L1 in Music Tech but they should refrain from recording - the world doesn't need it!

Another feature was the TV turned itself on by itself at 8 am. I'm not sure why the TV did this but I highly doubt the TV hates me that much to disturb my beauty sleep. Unless the TV now has developed it's own high level of conscience (imagine TVs being able to think for themselves) this was just annoying.

The hallway had a lovely smell to it. By lovely I mean weed. As a puritan I found this to be wrong. If you are wondering how I know what weed smells like please stop this and move on to the next paragraph.

All in all this was a lovely hotel if you want to pay over the odds and just hate yourself and want to punish yourself by not sleeping.

I spent four nights at this hotel with my partner. Its very basic, although perhaps understandable given the room tariff. The location near to the station is good and you can easily walk to the City Centre shops and the cathedral. However, this hotel is located just off the Prince of Wales Road with several night clubs a stones throw away. You can hear some noise from the street, but we experienced poor sleep on two nights. One night we were woken by someone banging on the window, as we were on the ground floor. This was followed by loud talking by clearly drunk guests in the corridor, who then decided to bang on the doors to various rooms. On another night we were woken by loud music and noise from the corridor. We probably wouldn't stay here again.

There is no parking at the hotel. It is about 2 mins away in a new multi storey. I actually found the car park safe and secure, and I think it was only a couple of pounds overnight.
