Only just writing this as I thought my hubbie had done it and he thought I’d done it, anyway, stayed here for our anniversary. I’ve stayed before on girlie weekends and as we wanted to stay over in Norwich I suggested here. As always, warm welcome and everywhere spotlessly clean. Owners are so friendly and it is a lovely place to stay. Had a little surprise in our room from the owners for our anniversary when we came back that evening . Such a lovely gesture. Due to COVID there was no cooked breakfast which is understandable but they do offer a breakfast bag which we had then finished off for lunch. Thanks again and we’ll definitely be back.
The hotel isn’t right in the city centre but only a short walk away from nightlife/restaurants etc. The owners and staff obviously care a great deal about their hotel as it’s recently been decorated and everything was spotless. Breakfast wasn’t on offer (due to Covid) but I was told this before hand so it wasn’t a problem. I’d definitely stay here again when visiting the beautiful city of Norwich.
We were very impressed with the cleanliness and the hospitality shown to us by Maxine, Robert and Sandy. Maxine was incredibly accommodating, managing to fit us in at 7pm on the evening we wanted to check-in, after we'd had a terrible experience at a (not cheap, chain) hotel nearby. We left that hotel and Maxine was as reassuring on the phone as she was in person, that we would be happy with the cleanliness. I was bowled over by how clean and spotless Marlborough Guest House was and in these times especially so, relating to Maxine and Robert's commitment to their COVID-19 provisions. We felt well and truly looked after by the team, with quite simply, excellent service from the owners - from when Maxine personally welcomed us and showed us to our room, to Robert greeting us in the morning and Sandy opening the door for us in the evenings. It felt like VIP treatment! Maxine, Robert and Sandy really go over and above to make sure you are happy. Sandy was incredibly helpful to us, offering us local knowledge for where to eat, places to go and things to do! Even giving us tips on the best beaches and parking! The location was walking distance to restaurants at The Riverside and the city centre, providing a wide range of options for nearby evening meals. Quite simply, we had the best time, which totally compensated for the rocky start elsewhere. Thank you Maxine, Robert and Sandy - we will definitely be back and hope to see you soon!…
We were due to stay here back in February for a football match, but this was sadly postponed. The owners were very flexible and accommodating and allowed us to rebook for later in the year once restrictions were lifted. Upon arrival and throughout our stay, we were impressed with the hygiene measures in place due to COVID. The room was spotless and everything was to a high standard. We would highly recommend.
I stayed in room 6 for roughly 5 months which in Norwich for business, I stayed so long because, this is a friendly family run guesthouse with excellent hygiene standards, I was initially attracted by the great rates, with regular housekeeping, one of the things that impressed was the freshness of the carpets. The rooms are spacious and very comfortable with plenty of power sockets. The guesthouse does have social distancing measures in place and these are clearly documented through-out reception and the dining room with hand sanitiser available, clean towels are also available from downstairs. The property is large enough that there is plenty of room for social distancing, my stay was very pleasant and I am yet the find the high standards of this guesthouse anywhere else. The owners clearly go above and beyond to ensure your stay is a pleasant one. Located behind the rail station and near the stadium and retail park an excellent location for exploring the city.…
