Amazing boutique B & B in a great location in Norwich. We chose the 2 bedroom apartment set slightly away from the main building as we were a party of 5. This proved a great choice for a family celebration. Lovely rooms and fresh cakes on arrival. Complementary water, milk and coffee. Fully stocked kitchen. Breakfast the next day was...

On arrival the lovely receptionist came out to help me find the dedicated parking space I had booked. Once you know where it is it's really very simple and a very short walk to the accommodation, but tired and in the dark I needed help! Once inside, I was shown to my room which was super and had some freshly...

Lovely boutique hotel, perfectly situated in the center of town. Lots of little quirks that do nothing but add to the character of grade 2 listed Georgian building. Tea and cake on arrival tasted great! Breakfast in the morning tasted good and was presented beautifully. Supplied gluten free bread and dairy free butter on request. Would love to stay again...

Great place to stay in central Norwich. We stayed in the colman room. Lovely comfortable bed, plenty of room, nice bathroom. Really could not wish for more. Breakfast was delicious and good quality. Will definitely go back again.

It's a snazzy B&B, no bar, no restaurant, no problem for us. The room was thoughtfully and tastefully appointed, the breakfast well cooked and filling with real, orange juice, the bed was comfy, and everything you are likely to want in this beautiful mediaeval city is no more than 15 minutes’ walk away. A great place to stay, with charming...

We stayed in the St Giles Suite, on arrival we had a slice of delicious homemade cake and chilled champagne awaiting us. The suite was stunning with some lovely touches and close attention to detail. My husband took full advantage and relaxed in the lovely slipper bath using the luxurious toiletries provided. 38 St Giles is situated in Norwich city...

I stayed over a 3 week period for several nights. Every room I stayed in was comfortable and clean, and I slept very well. Lovely to to have a coffee machine in the room, and it was delightful to come back to a delicious slice of homemade cake each evening. All of the staff are so friendly and considerate. The...

Very accommodating, extremely comfy bed with lovely pillows and linen, so close to town makes it a perfect shopping location, absolutley superb breakfast both days using local produce, fab coffee (even bought some from local roasthouse). Can't wait to stay again. Thank you St Giles.

We stayed over on 13/11/16 to 14/11/16. The entrance was very secretive but to me this added to the appeal and its hidden charm. The room was beautiful and we received cake upon arrival and indulged in a nice hot coffee whilst taking the surroundings in. We then went for a little walk round the city and when we got...

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
38 St Giles is a grand house with a long and interesting history. It was built in 1700 for the Gurney family and became home to the former Lord Mayor of Norwich. Its neatly tucked-away entrance just off St Giles Street creates an intimacy and privacy that is unrivalled. We are the most centrally located boutique accommodation in Norwich, a stone's throw from the largest outdoor covered marketplace in the UK and adjacent to 'the lanes' - one of the oldest parts of this fine city and an area of national repute boasting well over 200 independent retailers of fashion, food and just about anything else that you might wish to buy. Inside the main entrance we have a grand staircase from which most of the bedrooms are accessed. From our wonderful double rooms to our two large suites you will be surrounded in comfort and a sense of history. We have chosen an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary pieces of furniture & artefacts, sumptuous throws, cushions and rugs. Our bathrooms feature oversized walk-in showers and rain shower heads, several rooms also have baths. White, fluffy towels and a range of quality toiletries help ensure that your morning ablutions are a positive experience! In selecting our bedding we have chosen simply embroidered 400 thread count white Egyptian cotton (not easy to iron but wonderful next to the skin) with goose down and feather pillows and duvets. Homemade cakes are served on arrival with a choice of teas or our specially blended and locally roasted coffee. We bake our own bread, make our own preserves and source all of our ingredients from the best local suppliers. No corners are cut in attempting to provide you with a relaxing, comfortable and memorable stay. We are happy to cater for small wedding parties, birthdays, anniversaries and other group bookings. We can even create a special meal with fine wines and champagne on arrival for that extra special treat. ... more   less
