Booked last minute for overnight business trip. Arrived in torrential rain the room was clean and warm if a little dated and tired. The bar food was just that cheap and not so cheerful. Staff friendly and helpful. No disturbance during the night. Breakfast average and the dining room very sparse. Ok for overnight accommodation.

Took the family here and although it is typical pub the food was only average, not much taste but ok for an occasional visit, family friendly and good outside area, may go back sometime if I am passing, I must say other friends of ours go and they enjoy so each to their own.

I would just like to take this opportunity to apologise to yourself Dave, we certainly aim a lot higher than to deliver average food so it is very disappointing to hear that on this occasion you weren't entirely happy. We hope to see you again soon to show you the standards which we usually deliver. More

We went for a family meal and were disgusted by the service, the food and the attitude of the staff who really have a "we don't care" attitude. First of all the food is not cheap, so we expected something a little better than frozen pub chain food. Two of 3 dishes had to be sent back, one (a burrito)... More

I am very sorry to hear of your experience when you dined with us, I can only reassure you that this is not the standards which we both set ourselves or deliver on a daily basis. The room was ok. Really needs an update. The bathroom in particular could do with some attention to detail, e.g. tiles behind the taps and some cleaning of the grout of the tiles at the shower end of the bath. Rust around one of the bath taps was unsightly. The shower was good, as hot as you want and strong... More

Only stay here once a year, but have been doing so for forty years. The rooms and bar are run down and need an upgrade. The bedrooms have not been decorated for over a decade. The Hotel had been run by a Mr Darby, who seemed to have been there forever and ran a tight ship. It seems Mr Darby... More

had to pay for overnight parking and unable to get back on purchase in pub , Advised can get £1 back for short stay but not £5 paid for overnight stay - this is appalling in an residential area on the outskirts of town - pub/hotel ahs a very large carpark which was virtually empty
