Not bad for money- if cleaning was bit better would be 4 out of 5. Bedroom rugs very dirty on checkin. Check in was easy. Big apt for London Standards. Would be better than hotel for long stay. No TV in bedroom.

These apartments are 5-10 minutes walk to London Bridge station, Borough Markets, The Shard and the South Bank generally. A very good location from which to explore London. I chose this apartment as they offer an advance booking discount, which gives you a 1 bedroom apartment for less than a smart hotel room in the West End. It depends on...

I have spent months organising my best friends hen do. I booked three 2 bedroom apartments with Marlin Apartments, London Bridge. I emailed them 3 days before the event to confirm the booking and check there were no last minute problems. I was assured it was all ok. The day before we were due to stay, while I was supposed...

There are too many down sides: 1. There is no concierge staff- I had lots of luggage and due to distant parking of the taxi, I faced great difficulty in lugging all my luggage not just to the entrance lobby but also all the way to my apartment, all by myself, over multiple trips. 2. There is no option to...

Used these places for a few years and never disappoint. All serviced apartments with 1 or 2 bedrooms. All very large and well equipped, all you will need in them. Always clean and concierge on site so help if needed. 2 minutes walk to Borough tube and 10 from London Bridge. Tesco Express in building, so you can grab what...

I have spent 3 nights in the Marlin apartments empire square. The apartment is very well located and the furnishing is also fine. But there was no functional toilet in the room! the toilet flush was broken. They told us that there is no other room available but they would send somebody to fix it the next day. Nobody came...

I had paid for the room in advance. I did not understand why it was necessary to have to give a copy of photo ID at reception (which they would not return) and leave a £200 deposit on a card. They would not allow me to book in unless I did this. I was only there for one night. They...

Booked apartment as a birthday treat for my partner whilst we went out in London. When he arrived before me, they refused to give him entry to the apartment unless I was there even though I spoke to them on the phone, I had paid in full and had all the booking details. They insisted that they refund me and...

Spent a week in the Marlin Apartments Empire square and I won't be rushing back. The apartment was clean and well furnished, which was a good start, unfortunately it went downhill from there. On my first morning I woke up to find my milk, juice, and water frozen. The fridge had been set to it's maximum cold setting. These things...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
