Stayed at this location as we had a two day work function nearby, for a holiday I would prefer something closer to town or the underground. The apartments are spacious but a little tired, some small things missing but generally clean and okay. This actual hotel is behind the facade and seems to be in an old office building, but...

This so called apartment is majorly under equipped. After having spent the last couple of weeks in apartments in Spain, Granada and Seville, I am underwhelmed. It is very knocked about and the flooring is remarkably creaky and uneven. When we arrived the soap dish in the bathroom was hanging down at such an angle it wouldn't keep the soap...

Although slightly further from a tube station than I would have liked (especially in the rain) I have to say I found this apartment a great change to some of the much more expensive hotels I normally stay in when I'm in London. Reception was friendly when I checked in around 9pm, and I was escorted to the room as...

Stayed here through work so did not make use of all facilities. The room was a little tired, but spacious, I had a 2 bed apartment good sized kitchen, living space, 2 double beds, 2 baths. The hotel used to be the sarsens vinegar factory, nice bit of history. There is 24 hour manned reception, and I have to say...

Myself and my partner just returned from staying at Allstay for 1 night. We booked a 1 bed apartment and to our surprise we were upgraded on arrival to a 2 bedroom apartment. We stayed in apartment 84 which was away from the train tracks and had the most spectacular view of The Shard. The room was very clean however...

Stayed in Apartment 82B for 1 night on Saturday night. Firstly the location is fantastic and for £135 per night great value for where the apartment is situated. We checked in around 6pm and asked if we could extend the 10am checkout. We were told we could check out at 10.30am. At 10.30am on the dot just as we were...

We only booked about 3 weeks before and there were only rooms left. Luckily we wanted a one bed apartment as opposed to open plan. We left our luggage as we arrived at 11am and had seen that this was an option. We returned at 6pm and were told our apartment was on the third floor, my heart sank as...

Allstay Maltings Residence is situated on the site of the old Sarson's Malt Vinegar Factory on Tower Bridge Road, and I enjoyed this little nugget of recent history! It's just a 5 minute walk from the iconic Tower Bridge & Tower Of London, then onward to Tower Hill tube, or if you turn left & continue down Tooley Street for 10...

My wife & I spent a week in The Maltings Residence from the 3rd Aug - 10th Aug. The location is fantastic.... in the centre of London close to the Tower Bridge. The nearest Underground Stations are London Bridge.... 10 mins walk & Tower Bridge... 20 mins. We almost always used the London Bridge. We had booked an open plan...

What a lovely and convenient place to stay with the children! My husband and I have been to London before and recall the much smaller rooms in Europe v. US which played a factor in booking an apartment over a room with 7-year old twins. We enjoyed the 2-bedrooms with living area to ensure we all had space after a...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
