Just had to say how impressed I was with this hotel! Was stopping in London for an event with work so wanted something close to Kings Cross and the event itself. Little did I know that this little gem is less than a 5 minute walk from Kings Cross situated in a lovely little square that seems miles away from...

A friend of mine and me booked the Excelsior, very close to King's Cross and St. Pancras stations, for 2 nights. I explicitly mentioned in the reservation that I need two separate beds. This was not of interest for the hotel, even more, they tried to squeeze us into a tiny room with a bed not wider than 1 m,...

Dear Guest It really upsets me when people and then try to blame the hotel for their own mistake. You had booked a double room which clearly states 1 double bed . The reservation portal you used only sells double rooms and it is impossible to book a twin. If we had a twin available we could have switched you...

Pluses: Brilliant location a stones throw from Kings Cross/St. Pancras on a quiet, safe square. The rooms are newly refurbished and modern and the staff are friendly enough. Minuses: We booked the 5-person room for 2 nights and when we arrived they showed us to a 4 person room. Their solution was to offer us a 4 person and a...

I stayed here for 6 nights with my bf in feb 2013. The location of the hotel was great, right by kings cross station, so was good to use both the rail and metro networks. The hotel was also situated in a quiet area off a side street near euston rd. The room itself was ridiculously small especially the bathroom....

it is very well situated for kings cross station, only a 5 minute walk away. it looks ok from the outside, they even gave us a family room instead of a double. but when we asked for a remote to operate the tv they said it must be in the room and they would check, they didn't. we complained when...

I came here and got a very quiet room under the roof. The staff in this hotel is very, very friendly and funny. They try to help you everywhere and every way that they can. The room was small, but clean and nice. The breakfast is okay, the breakfast-room is small, too... but they try to get a table for...

My wife and I are a couple from Malta, and we just came from a four day visit to London and I stayed at Excelsior hotel. It was great. It is very clean and up to scratch. If you're staying at the Excelsior Hotel in London, one basically has to deal with another two hotels (belonging to the same management...

If you want somewhere handy for kings cross that is good value. Try here. The rooms are not huge, but are clean and well equipped. But the big plus for me was the staff. They could not do enough for us on our stay, i will be back.

Clean hotel, location was spot on for shopping and west end bars/restaurants, staff were very attentive to detail. Had a great stay - will definitely be back in the fall. Beautiful brand new reception and guest lounge located 1 door away.

I am not one to write a bad review unless I am really unhappy about my experience somewhere. This hotel is so different from a typical American hotel, it was hard to get used to. We checked in at the lobby, and they then led us to our room which was a block away in a completely different building. We...

Dear Guest Thanks for your review and your shared experience. We are trying hard to improve all aspects of our hotel and listen to our customers . Postives : Great location, and clean room Negatives : No hot water at 10 am. We had recently installed a new " megaflow " water system a few days before new years eve....

Neighbourhood Profile
Bloomsbury
Snuggly nestled within Central London is academic and leafy Bloomsbury, an area that boasts walking distance access to many of London's most popular attractions. It is also home to some of Britain's most celebrated museums, including the must-see British Museum. Despite an understandable popularity with students, tourists and day trippers, vast sections of Bloomsbury retain a quiet, residential feel year round and throughout the week.
