The Hotel Café Royal is right in the heart of SOHO this is a perfect spot to stay, just off Regent Street. You can walk to Piccadilly, Oxford Street and theater. The rooms are very comfortable and the service is superb!

Cafe Royal is one of those hotels that is very special, The rooms are super clean, a bit high tech for me being of an older age, but very comfortable and warm, The staff are wonderful and nothing too much trouble. Location excellent. I shall definitely stay at Cafe Royal on next visit to London. A very big thank you... More

I stayed her one night while on business in LDN. Check in was okay and we were given rooms 209 & 210. My room, 209, was large and well appointed. B&O 40" TV; excellent shower enclosure. As seems to be the trend these days, the lighting is too complicated. Dim this, brighten that etc. Not much use in the middle... More

Lovely hotel amazing bathroom and the location in the middle of Regent St was fantastic. Slight problem with the privacy button we had unknowingly left it on which meant we returned after a theatre trip to discover the room had not been serviced although frustrating the room was serviced promptly when we contacted housekeeping. a little guidance with regard to... Great location; room, club, breakfast, and spa facilities very good. Afternoon tea ok only, felt a bit conveyor belt and nowhere near as good as the ambience of the afternoon tea at the One Aldwych although our waiter was personally very nice. Very impressed with the lady in the bar who knew all about absinthe and really took the time to... More

We booked to stay here following a visit to the Palladium. We were not disappointed; this hotel is everything you could hope for. The staff are unbelievable, the service is impeccable, the decor is a mixture of traditional and contemporary. This may be to everyone's taste but it works. We can't wait to go back.

This was a celebration treat and was not a disappointment in any way. A very warm welcome even before you get into the hotel starts what is an amazing experience. The service exceeds any expectation you might have, and the food and in our case champagne makes this a good choice for an experience to remember. Unlike a previous reviewer,... More

I really like the location as it's just on Regent Street so great for shopping and nearby attractions however, not overwhelmed with the room! We have a superior room and although the bathroom is very eye catching (no bath only a shower) the room itself feels very claustrophobic and soulless! I have ordered room service a couple of times whilst... More

The Cafe Royal is a luxury hotel in the best location, the concierge was the best ever, fulfilled all our wishes, found us a seat in every restaurant or show we wanted. The breakfast is recommended, the tea house is very nice, we were disappointed from the view that was of an office building and the little window.

The afternoon tea was delicious offering a wide range of different aspects to the menu. It was such a lovely setting too. The only down side was that the bookings are for 1.5 hour slots only. I was informed of this when I had booked. However, I didn't think this would be an issue, but it was. We were informed... More

Staying in Soho

Neighbourhood Profile
Soho
The go-to district for a good time in London, Soho hosts a wealth of world-class theatres and a compelling lineup of cafes, restaurants, pubs, bars, and clubs. At Soho's core is London's original Red Light District and the epicenter of the LGBT scene – and thus the city's hottest nightlife. For shopping enthusiasts, Soho is not only the home of London's greatest concentration of boutique shops, but also the most strategic place to set off on a tour of the world's most celebrated department stores. In the southern part of the neighbourhood lies Chinatown, with its multitude of delicious and affordable restaurants. Closer to the Thames, Chinatown's narrow and teeming lantern-lit lanes spill onto the expansive hub of glitzy Leicester Square.

Official Description (provided by the hotel)
Combining architectural heritage with contemporary design, Cafe Royal has been reincarnated as a luxury hotel in the heart of London's West End with the elegance of Mayfair to the west and the creativity of Soho to the east. Grand historic areas have been sensitively restored while 160 guestrooms, including 49 suites and six signature suites have been created in a contemporary yet refined style. Our guestrooms start from approximately 35sqm/377sqft to 212sqm/2,281sqft with every room presenting itself as a suite. Continuing its celebrated legacy, Hotel Cafe Royal offers a selection of restaurants and bars for guests to enjoy. At the heart of the hotel, the Ten Room offers British informal dining all-day, while the Green Bar is the perfect place to relax and unwind with a cocktail. Restored to revive the ornate Louis XVI decor and detailing, the iconic Oscar Wilde Bar (formerly the legendary Grill Room, originally established in 1865), is now the place to enjoy Champagne, cocktails and a light menu of British dishes and live entertainment on select evenings. The Cafe, on Regent Street, revives the European tradition of cafe culture. To complete the experience, the Akasha Holistic Wellbeing Centre is an urban retreat in the centre of the capital spanning over 1,200sqm/13,000sqft featuring a large lap pool, sauna and Hammam/steam room and offering a range of signature treatments. Reflecting a core vision to harmoniously unite the four natural elements of nature, Akasha features four corresponding spaces; lounge/earth, spa/water, gym/fire, yoga/air. ... more   less
