First impression of the hotel were very good, check in was smooth and efficient, unfortunately that's where it ended. Upon entering our room with the " Your room has been sanitised" hanging outside we found that it hadn't been cleaned let alone sanitised, we were greeted with the previous occupants dirty towels on the floor, dirty cups and dirty bed. I immediately called housekeeping and went out for the remainder of the day, assuming that we would return to a clean room... Wrong!! We were now greeted with a dirty but made bed which was more offensive than the unmade version earlier that day. I can only assume that the room hadn't been cleaned either but they had taken the time to remove the dirty cups. This is not acceptable at any time let alone at 11pm when we needed to then wait for clean sheets. The following morning at breakfast we were then shown to a dirty breakfast table still laden with the previous occupants dirty cups, plates etc . There is clearly a pattern developing of a dirty hotel that has a nice façade but huge failings behind the scenes. On the morning of check in we went to the Executive lounge for a coffee having booked an Executive room, a number of staff watched us wandering around looking for the coffee, not one of them cared to tell us the lounge had indeed been closed since the pandemic started. I presume this is a cost cutting exercise. Another member of staff on exiting the lift couldn't be bothered to speak with a simple "excuse me" yet instead chose to just push her way passed us. This hotel doesn't exactly credit itself on customer service. On check out I asked to see the manager - not an unreasonable request given the failings but instead was handed his business card by the desk clerk and told they hoped to see us again in the future, and so Mr Caleb Hutchinson. I am a travel agent of some 40years and not only will you never see me set foot in your hotel again but will ensure that my clients never do either. If you are thinking of booking this hotel - please don't.

Hotel's Favourite
We first stayed in this superb hotel back in August 2018 (which was our first ever time to the wonderful city or London) and we thoroughly, thoroughly enjoyed it. Since then we stayed there in June 2019 (and would have done in 2020, but Covid stopped that) and then this time June 28 - 5 July 2021. Me and my partner absolutely love this hotel, and it was an easy choice of where we would stay on our week long holiday in London in June 2019 and also this time in 2021. The location of this hotel is perfect for us, and its less than a 10 minute walk to Vauxhall tube station, so it's very conveniently placed. There's quite a few good eating out places within 5 - 10 minutes walk from the hotel, that's if you do not want to eat out in the hotel's restaurant. There is also a little convenience store and also a Tesco Extra that are both a stones throw from the hotel. Both are ideal for if you have forgotten to pack something or simply want to grab something to take with you while out for the day or grab a snack to take back to your room. Another plus for the location of this hotel for us, is, we do the lovely walk along the Southbank, over Tower Bridge and back along the other side (past the Tower Of London) and then coming back over Lambeth Bridge and returning back to the hotel. It's a beautiful walk and definitely one of the highlights of our stay. Upon arrival we were greeted by the concierge, who took our temperatures with a contactless temperature gun, so as to make sure neither of us had a temperature (which is reassuring for everyone). The room had been thoroughly sanitised and cleaned before we arrived, and the toilet had a band around the lid to show it had not been used since it was sanitised. The remote control for the TV was in a sealed bag which again had been sanitised. At multiple areas of the hotel were hand sanitisers, so it was very easy to keep your hands fully clean and sanitised. They really could not have done anymore to make the hotel as clean and as safe as possible for everyone. We were advised at the point of check in, that our rooms would only be cleaned every three days (to minimise contact), but if we needed the room cleaned more often, we just had to let them know by phoning down with the in room telephone, or by calling at the reception. We asked every day at reception for fresh towels for both of us, and they were either fetched to our room before we left in the morning, or they had been placed in our room while we had been out. We were also advised that breakfast time slots needed booked (in order to minimise the amount of people in the restaurant at one time) and you had a 45 minute breakfast slot. Again, we just asked at the reception on the way out for the day, for a slot booked. It was very easy and no hassle. Due to Covid, the breakfast cereal choice was not as large as what we had on previous visits, and all the breakfast cereals were in sealed boxes. On our particular stay, we had Rice Crispies, Coco Pops, Special K, Weetabix, porridge available at the cooked breakfast counter, as well as yoghurts, fruit salads and croissants, muffins. All the breakfasts we had were lovely, and the quality was superb. We had a lovely view across and along the Thames, while eating our lovely breakfast and drinking the lovely coffee. The rooms are lovely, spacious and very luxurious. We always tend to book the Executive Double room. Our particular room had a little console beside the bed, where we could open/close the blackout blinds, adjust the air conditioning and also room temperature, and also alter the lighting of the room. The room had a large flat screened TV and was perfect for lying in bed to watch of an evening. The beds were lovely and comfortable and our particular bed had two pillows, so you could choose which you prefer or maybe even prefer both together. It's all these little touches of everything been thought for, that makes this a fantastic hotel. The bathroom was lovely and spacious and immaculately clean, and the shower was brilliant, really invigorating. The bathroom had toiletries laid out, as well as towels, bathrobes, slippers. Everything was taken care of. The staff who we dealt with on our stay were excellent, very helpful and welcoming. I just wish I had taken note of their names, so that I could give them some credit on this review. One last thing we really like about this particular hotel is the ability to have our luggage stored when we checked out. This allowed us to have a bit of extra time in London, to do some last sightseeing, shopping, as our train home was not till 5:10 pm. If we weren't able to have our luggage stored, we would have needed to travel home before 12 pm (which is the checking out time for the hotel). We asked the lady on reception if we could have our luggage stored, and nothing was too much trouble, and she took our luggage and stored it in the secure storing room until we were ready to collect.

Dear Talster71, thank you so much for taking the time to share your experience, it really means a lot to us! It is wonderful to see you have enjoyed yet another great stay with us. It's particularly great to read your comments about our friendly team and to see the Covid-19 measures we have introduced as part of our Reassuring Moments programme helped you to feel safe during your stay. We are sorry if you found the breakfast buffet slightly more limited than usual, though I am happy that you could still enjoy a variety of cereals and that the quality was superb. We hope we can welcome you again on your next trip to London! Warm regards, Lucy
