Cramped room with cracked and badly stained sink in bathroom. Train lines at back of hotel and lots of traffic noise at front. It's also sited on a back street with a very dark and gloomy approach under railway bridges from Tower Hill direction. Did not feel the best of areas at night

The hotel is located pretty much midway between three tube stations so is convenient in that respect, the hotel itself is clean and tidy and the hotel staff are very professional and welcoming. I've stayed there twice this year and found, on both occasions, reason to give positive feedback on the staff to travelodge themselves. The only problem with the...

My sister and I stayed at the Aldgate East Travelodge in August for one night. We were in London to attend the Secret Cinema event at the Olympic Park. Due to the nature of the event (it was a 1950s themed set for Back to the Future) you weren't allowed to bring mobile phones or any electronics into the event....

We had a 2 night stay here for £50 a night and then added the breakfast charge, so about £126 for 2 nights B & B, which is excellent value for this location (close to Tower Bridge and Tower of London). Staff were refreshingly pleasant and helpful, room was clean and tidy. I requested (and was given) a quiet room...

Refurbished Travelodge hotel, looks like all the other Travelodge's. Surprisingly no significant noise from rail road nearby (but from some machinery outside though). Friendly and adaptable reception.

Our stay was great value near the sights we wished to see in London, short walking distance. Hotel was safe and clean providing healthy choices for breakfast as well as good choices of English menu. Staff was friendly and available to assist and provide service at all times. Certainly recommend for stay.

Booked a family room for 3 adults and a 4 year old and didn't expect such a large room. Staff explained there was no air conditioning but had provided 4 floor fans which was great. Room was clean and bathroom had a brilliant shower. Our family room was at the back overlooking the railway lines- a little noisy but we...

We booked this hotel for a event recently. Upon arriving at the hotel we were told that the air conditioning was broken however, there had been a fan on all day and the curtains were drawn. This did nothing to help the heat! When we went down to inquire about it we were told that only a few rooms have...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
