We stayed at the Apex City Of London Hotel on Saturday 2nd March 2013. I was lucky enough to get a great last minute deal through Hotelsclick.com for Bed & Continental Breakfast. The hotel was located just a 3 minute walk from Tower Hill station right next to the Tower Of London. The area around the hotel itself is quiet...

We were searching for a nice hotel for my birthday weekend away in London, and following the good reviews and reasonable price on expedia we choose to book 2 nights at this hotel. My boyfriend phoned ahead, unbeknownst to me, and explained it was my birthday so we were given a free complimentary upgrade to a 'superior' room and free...

Whenever we find a good hotel like this, we say we'll go back, this will be no exception for this one, unless like many others the prices increase. Had one sleepless night thanks to dogs barking and car horns going off (2nd March 2013) Beds are too hard for me, otherwise a great hotel and really nice staff.

Overall we had a very enjoyable time at Apex City of London Hotel. Throughout our stay every member of staff we encountered was friendly, polite and doing their up most to make our stay a pleasant experience. The room was ok but not what I would call luxury and the heating system was noisy overnight but the service received and...

This hotel is just great, minutes from Tower Hill station so it's easy to get to. It's ideal at weekends as the City is pretty quiet so you're assured of a good nights sleep! The rooms are expansive for London and furnished really well. It almost felt like an apartment as my room had a mini seating area. I didn't...

My husband and I had an absolutely brilliant stay and can't find a single fault. We found it superb value for money as we stayed at the dinner, bed and breakfast rate. We would definitely stay there again!!

Comfortable hotel, well-balanced, modern without being bleak. Always happy with my stay there. Service is professional and pleasant and food is good. Only detraction was being woken up at 3am on saturday night as a local nightclub ejected its patrons - not a pretty sight either.

This is a very nice hotel at a reasonable price given its location. It is currently situated between two construction sites. This makes it a bit difficult to nap after a long overnight flight. When that goes away, it will be a first class place and a good price. The front desk folks were great. Very attentive and helpful.

Dear Paul R Thank you for your comments. I am delighted that you found the hotel to meet your expectations with the exception of the noise that you mentioned. I can assure you that we are working very closely with the contractors of the two nearby buildings to minimise any interruption to our guests. Work has been restricted to reasonable...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
