I wrote a very negative review about this hotel a couple of years ago, so I was dismayed to find I had been booked in there again. Implausibly, it has improved. Or I may have lowered my standards. Or it may just have been a better room. The room was more spacious, although still too small for two and their...

HOTEL’S FAVOURITE REVIEW

The location is right out of Aldgate East tube station, so that's fantastic. It's walkable distance to Tower of London, which we did one morning. Didn't have breakfast in the hotel - followed a TA comment to check out breakfast at Peter's Cafe which indeed was yummy. Room was clean and roomy (might have been upgraded - 9th storey, not...

This hotel is literally 100m from Aldgate East tube station giving great access to the underground network, so connectivity is a breeze. It's in the general vicinity of the "The City" so it's not really on the doorstep of visitor attractions and restaurants/bars etc are a little limited locally - but it's London so you want to get out and...

This is a great hotel, the room was clean and comfortable with a great shower. We found the staff were helpful and polite. Breakfast was contenental or cooked and nicely presented - unfortunately the cooked breakfast was not very hot, we didn't have dinner here as we ate out but the menu seemed reasonably priced for London. Hotel is in...

I stayed in this hotel two nights. I always try to give the strengths of weaknesses so a traveler reading this review can make a choice that fits them the best. The rooms are very small....the smallest of my European vacation. The bathrooms are a prefab insert ....and very small. No shampoos, just a soap. Only two towels given, no...

Stayed here for a few nights in February, Tube station on the corner 2 min walk away, easy walk to brick lane and Spitalfields Market. The city is also an easy walk away to the Gerkin and Walkie talkie. Hotel was basic but clean. Overall a good stay.

Great location, felt safe, was told by transportation driver from the cruise ship we picked the best hotel out of all the passengers. Plenty of restaurants, tube stop on the corner. Getting around would be quick and easy. He was right. Every tour we booked was within easy reach. The breakfast included was wonderful. We had more than enough good...

I went to the hotel last week as I was visiting London. Looks that the location is perfect for business and leisure guests. The hotel is 1 min walk from Aldgate East station, therefore easy commute to central London. During my visit, I was attended by Claudio and Pedro at the front desk - superb and friendly. They are a...

Every member of staff was incapable of fulfilling our request. A white wine spritzer couldn't be made as they didn't know how, difficulty over trying to leave bags for collection and tried to charge 7 of us £10 each for 4 pastries. Single beds are only fix for someone who is skinny and shower ran slower than a dripping tap....

Great location right next to East Aldgate Tube Station. Short Walk to the Tower of London. Nice modern hotel, spacious rooms and comfy bed. All very clean and new. Evening restaurant is really good with a great selection of food and wine at a decent price. No iron was available but there is an ironing room on the 4th floor...

Staying in Whitechapel

Neighbourhood Profile
Whitechapel
Whether you're here for its dynamic street life, world class galleries or famed curry houses, you're bound to be wowed by the uniquely cosmopolitan flavor of Whitechapel. Long gone are the days when Jack the Ripper stalked its streets. And despite his mysterious legacy bringing throngs of curiosity driven tour groups to its back alleys and otherwise serene garden squares, these days you're more likely to catch a cutting edge fashionista scurrying through its age old lanes than criminals of any sort.
