Nestled next to Greenwich Station, Novotel London Greenwich garners acclaim for its inviting atmosphere and strategic location that offers seamless access to public transport and nearby attractions. Guests have called out the spacious rooms and modern amenities, though some suggest enhancements in maintenance and noise insulation.
The hotel's blend of modern and traditional design elements, alongside live music events, contributes to a comfortable and appealing environment. While the hotel is generally celebrated for its cleanliness and value, a few travelers have raised points about room decor and service inconsistencies.

Detailed Reviews
The location is excellent, and the hotel is very modern
As you enter the hotel you are greeted with a subtle but pleasant fragrance before the very friendly and helpful staff are waiting to assist you.
The bedroom had two single but large comfy beds and a large wall-mounted tv. The bathroom had a separate shower and the toilet was in a separate room but without a sink.
Breakfast was in a bright and comfortable dining room with plenty of food choices, catering for what appeared to be just about everyone. The sausages were the tastiest I have had for a long time.
This was our first time in a Novotel and we were not disappointed, we have already booked for later in the year.

Amazing location with a comfortable bed and great breakfast service. I was thoroughly impressed by the breakfast service, from the staff working and the food made by the chefs. The staff would go above and beyond, by cleaning the front of the coffee machine at any given time and took our plates quickly which I was impressed by.
I think the location of the hotel was the best factor, giving easy links to central London and the center of Greenwich. The rooms were okay, and the gym facilities were useful.
The lady working at reception was also great. I would also like to give my appreciation to Noah, Harris and Marcel who were great, and had the courage to give me their names on paper. I would not have been able to have done that at such a young age!
Thank you Novotel for the warm stay, hope to come back soon.
Max.

My Visit at the Novotel restaurant was nothing but amazing. The team went above and beyond to welcome my families and I. Days before attending , I called up to make a booking for 20, to celebrate my sons christening and when I turned up, they had decorate the entire area , gave us a private space and made the evening so special and intimate, plus I had extra guest and Noel made it so easy to add them to our large table. What are you thinking? The decorations were such an amazing touch and treat, it made the whole area look beautiful and fantastic. My guest was amazed at the decor. Noel made sure to greet us and that we had everything in order before sitting our guest for dinner.
Dinner came out within a perfect time after being seated , all our guest were served at once , no one had to wait a long period of time. This is because we had been liaising with the team prior , so they had our pre-ordered meals from the menu. David and Anthony, our servers, made amazing cocktails and drinks on demands, keeping up our big party. I have no complaints and definitely will be going back here . Did I say , how amazing the food was .. it was delicious , I would definitely recommend the grilled Sea bream. Thank you again , Noel, David and Anthony for all the hard work you put in welcoming our large party. It’s a memory for the books .

Hotel may sell your room to someone else if they are fully booked and you dont arrive early enought!
I booked this hotel and the car park for a one-night stay on Easter weekend, months in advance. The hotel was ideally located in East London, just a 30-minute bus ride from the O2 Arena. I also had plans nearby for the following day, Sunday.
I arrived at the hotel and parked at 11 am. Since check-in was later, we went into London to enjoy the sights and then headed to the O2 Arena. We returned to the hotel at 11:15 pm to check into our room, only to find out they had sold our room to someone else. They lied and claimed the room was flooded. Instead of booking us into a nearby hotel, they offered a room at their London Bridge location, which was quite far away. One staff member said the flood happened at lunchtime, another said in the evening. It would have been more believable if they had contacted us before we arrived at the hotel, but they didn't.
We were told that taxis to and from the alternative hotel would be booked and paid for. This was true for the journey from Greenwich to London Bridge, but we had to book the return taxi ourselves and claim the cost back later. There was no discount for the inconvenience, and the manager was indifferent to our situation. This totally ruined my weekend, was very inconvenient and meant that we lost 2 hours travelling between hotels and had to sort out getting a refund for the taxi. After complaining in writing, I was offered a 20% discount on a future booking, which is useless given their standard room rates. Even the reply said "alleged flooding". Surely the Manager would know if there was a flood in the hotel!
If you decide to book this hotel, make sure you get your key card very early in the day. Otherwise, your room might be sold to someone else!

Responded 5 June 2024
Dear Kazz, Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback regarding your stay at Novotel London Greenwich. We value each guest and strive to ensure everyone is well looked after. I completely understand your frustration regarding the relocation to a different hotel. Regarding the flooding, we had an emergency situation that we did not anticipate. We assure you that we are not lying to our guests; we are doing our best to accommodate them under such circumstances. As you mentioned in your feedback, we made every effort to find hotels that match our standards and were able to secure a room for you at Novotel London Bridge. Regarding the taxi service, we agreed to cover the cost both ways and did pay for it initially. However, we were waiting for your call to arrange the return cab at your convenience. It seems there was a misunderstanding or miscommunication, which led you to pay for the return cab yourself. Once you made us aware of this, we promptly refunded the cost of the return cab to your account. As a gesture of goodwill, we also did not charge for the car park. As you mentioned in your email, we did offered you a 20% discount for future stay with the free upgrade for the inconvenience. However, there was no response from yourself and so we didn't know you weren't happy with the offer. We deeply regret any inconvenience you experienced and want to assure you that we are taking steps to prevent such issues in the future. Your feedback is invaluable in helping us improve our services and guest experience. Kind Regards, Bimla Gurung Rooms Division Manager

The cleaning lady entered my room even though I was inside and there was a do not disturb sign AND there was music/youtube playing in the room while I was sleeping. Please get your employees to check if someone is inside sleeping or in the toilet before running around the room. Once she saw me she did not get out immediately but started running around even more? What?

Dear Ward, Thank you for bringing this to our attention, and please accept our sincerest apologies for the disturbance during your stay. We completely understand how unsettling it must have been to have your privacy interrupted, especially with the "Do Not Disturb" sign displayed. It sounds like there may have been a miscommunication on our end, and we’re very sorry that this affected your experience. We’ll be addressing this with our housekeeping team and reception team to ensure they’re extra attentive to signs and sounds that indicate a guest is in the room. Your comfort and privacy are extremely important to us, and we’re committed to preventing situations like this from happening in the future. Thank you for your patience and for giving us the chance to improve our service. We hope to make it up to you on a future stay. Warm regards, Athulya Guest Relations Novotel London Greenwich

The breakfast is amazing, there is a lot of choice of delicious things. The staff is very friendly. The bathroom is very nice and the hand soap, shower gel and shampoo smell incredibly good. The hotel is in a beautiful location and well equipped the only thing that bothers me personally is that you can't open the windows far is understandable because of the safety but a bit disturbing when ventilating. Overall impression is very good would come back again and again!!

We have met at this hotel every January for many years to hold a Balint type conference. Colleagues come from far abroad as well as within the UK for a long weekend. The hotel, as always, provided excellent value accommodation and is very handily placed for travel by rail, riverboat or just walking to historical sites around Greenwich. The breakfasts are fabulous value, the staff always friendly, professional and nothing ever seems too much trouble. Can't fault the place and we will continue using it every year.

Really good one night stay here with our two children 6 and 8.
Pros:
Comfy adult bed
Comfy double sofa bed for the children, which can be a gamble in some hotels!
Lovely reception/lobby area
Umbrella rental £2 for 48hrs, we didn't need one but was a nice touch
Separate bath and shower and large sink in the bathroom
Toilet separate to bathroom area
Great location in Greenwich and right next to DLR/Station
Friendly staff
Plenty of towels
Very reasonable price
Cons:
Bathroom corroded in some parts
Train noise might bother some, we were fine
Car park charge is for 24hrs at a time, we arrived at 10am and were told that we only needed to pay one lot and that we had until checkout at 12pm. We double checked this just in case the next morning and were told it is 24hrs so would run out at 10am, so glad we double checked!
£25 parking charge is steep
We would definitely stay again if visiting London.

My wife and I breakfasted this morning in the dining room at the Novotel, Greenwich, LONDON. A totally delightful dining experience. We have breakfasted in many hotels in many countries around the world and we must say that this was one of the nicest breakfasts we have ever had. The quality and presentation of the food was excellent and most importantly - delicious. Special mention of the croissants - just so light and buttery - couldn't resist and had to have a second one.

I've always had a soft spot for Novotel, but I can't help feeling that the brand is getting lost within the Accor group who appear set on chopping and changing their focus with a new marque being dreamed up seemingly every month.
The Greenwich Novotel at first glance looks older, but the lobby and welcome area are very smart and contemporary. The restaurant area however, struggles at breakfast time with the guest volume and a limited space. It was impossible to find a member of staff (for instance to ask for decaff coffee as the machines only served regular coffee) who wasn't rushing around cleaning tidying or replacing. All the staff we dealt with, however, were really pleasant and engaging.
Our guest room was OK, a comfortable bed with extra pillows but the room was definitely needing a makeover. The heating/cooling simply didn't work - the window sill and surround were cracked and peeling due to guests (including ourselves) looking for fresh air to counter the stuffiness which comes of course with lots of London rain. The bathroom again was functional but tired, with drainage issues in both the sink and the shower.
The upside is the location as Greenwich is a pleasant suburb with lots of great restaurants and a nice villagey feel away from Central London.

Dear Ikelmay, Thank you for taking the time to share your detailed feedback. We’re glad to hear that Novotel has been a longtime favorite for you, and we’re equally appreciative of your honest insights regarding your recent stay. We understand your concerns about the brand’s evolving identity, and we’ll be sure to pass along your feedback regarding the experience and service consistency within the Accor group. It’s great to know you found our lobby and welcome area modern and welcoming, though we’re sorry to hear that breakfast felt a bit hectic due to the high volume of guests. We’ll certainly look into how we can improve the dining experience, especially in terms of service availability and addressing specific requests like decaf coffee. Your feedback on the guest room condition is also very valuable. While we’re pleased to know you found the bed comfortable, we acknowledge that certain elements like the room’s climate control and bathroom fixtures could benefit from refreshing. Rest assured, we’ll take these points seriously in our ongoing maintenance efforts. We’re happy that our Greenwich location was a highlight for you. It truly is a charming part of London, and we’re glad it provided a pleasant, village-like contrast to the bustle of the city center. We hope to have the opportunity to welcome you back for an even better experience next time. Thank you again for your thoughtful review! Thank you, Athulya Guest Relations Novotel London Greenwich

From outside the hotel, just take the DLR (towards Bank) and then step off at "Heron Quays" or "Canary Wharf" and change to the underground's Jubilee line (towards Stratford), and finally step off at "North Greenwich" station, which is at walking distance from the venue.
You might want to install the TFL GO app on your phone, which is very helpful for planning your trips around London on public transports.
We stayed there 4 nights. Could not find many restaurants within reasonable walking distance. Had dinner once at the hotel restaurant which was convenient as we had returned after a long day. There is a good Vietnamese restaurant nearby Pho City. Ordered Uber eats one night. There are cafes for breakfast. There is a Sainsbury (groceries) about 5 minutes away which also has bakery items for sale. But super convenient location for DLR (trains).
Recommend you download Transport for London app - its free and will show you bus and train routes. Enjoy your trip!
Greenwich pier is just a few blocks away. Very handy to all the Thames cruises and taxi oat services.
I’ve no clue sorry… I went there using public transport …
