We visited london to attend secret cinema and stayed at citizenM. We wanted a reasonably priced conveniently located hotel with good enough facilities to allow us to get dressed and ready before the show and to sleep comfortably after. This hotel ticked all the boxes. Check in was easy ...self service but with friendly staff to help out if required....

We have stayed at many different hotels over the years and decided to book the Citizen M after reading the many positive reviews on Tripadvisor. However, we both felt rather disappointed following our stay. Our room (322) was much smaller than we anticipated and although the bed is comfortable, we found that both of us had to either wake up...

We booked CitizenM Bankside after finding a deal on Trip Advisor. The rooms are quite small but there were enough places to store our belongings. The bed was comfortable and huge. The shower was lovely. As mentioned on the site, all the drinks and the snack bars in the mini-fridge were free. The downside was that there was no kettle...

Trendy hotel, Pod type rooms, with nice "hipster" look in common areas. The rooms are small but have everything you need, massive beds, good shower, free minibar, large TV. There is however not much storage for hanging clothes and no room service. The staff is in general very friendly. It's very good value for the standard you get. The location...

2 day business workshop conducted at one of the meeting rooms on the top floor of this property. It's a wonderful hotel with amazing views of Thames/ Tower Bridge/ Tower Hill etc. The furnishing, decor and design is ultra modern. It's a pleasure to walk around the hotel. The business centre is fitted with all facilities and their catering service...

I usually stay at Hiltons in London but stayed at the CitizenM in early March for a business meeting. Everything about it was impressive, satisfying, and comforting, from the incredibly friendly staff at check-in, to the bar staff, and everywhere else. The room was a bit on the small side but so full of quality and comfort that I never...

The location of this hotel was perfect for what we wanted to do because we wanted easy access to the Jubilee Line plus some of the good to visit places on the South Bank. It is 5 mins walk from Tate Modern and Borough Market. Lovely staff and very nice public areas for either relaxing or working in. Good wifi....

Great place for a nice little London trip! Great staff, cool and very friendly! Great coffee! Great breakfast in the lounge, nice bar in the evening, the rooms are quite small, so best come with a trolley only

Everything was clean and very modern. The coffee shop/restaurant served simple snacks and coffee which was convenient but I felt like I couldn't really get a real meal. The hotel felt very new which was a plus in London but the rooms were like a closet. The location was not the best because it took a while to walk from...

Staying in Southwark

Neighbourhood Profile
Southwark
Even before the arrival of the instantly iconic Shard, the riverside scene in Southwark had moved well beyond any up-and-coming phase of development. For quite some time, locals and out-of-towners alike have loved browsing the boutiques of Bermondsey High Street, foraging through the bounteous stalls at centuries old foodie haven Borough Market, and flocking to the banks of the Thames to enjoy some of Britain's biggest attractions such as Tate Modern and Shakespeare's Globe. Despite Southwark's many popular draws, instant calm can be achieved easily by turning down almost any side street. For more urban buzz, a quick stroll across famed bridges like the pedestrianized Millennium Bridge or the ever photogenic Tower Bridge yields access to the very core of Central London. And with London Bridge Station as this neighbourhood's main transportation hub, getting across town (or to anywhere in England for that matter) is a relative breeze.
