Both beautiful and comfortable, the Main House was a refuge during a week-long business trip. Situated in a lovely neighborhood, Main House exudes peace, with its zen-like atmosphere, simple/soothing decor, and ultra-comfy beds. So much more cozy than a generic hotel!

This was a very pleasant stay, and a good location in Notting Hill, with very good restaurants in the area (also vegan) and a cosy pub! Excellent personal service, from the pick-up at the airport (so cool!) to advice from the owner Caroline Main on places in London we would otherwise not have visited - the flower market in the...

This place is a beautiful and comfy base of operation in a cool section of Notting Hill. The suite was spotless and large, decorated just right. Caroline Main runs a fabulous house. Enough said. We'll be back.

I can't say enough about this place - I felt as if I was visiting my rich aunt in London (but with a bit more privacy). I loved the eclectic, chic decor, gathered from a lifetime of travels, no doubt. The suite was bright and spacious, and had me regretting not bringing a companion to share in it. The neighborhood...

They had us at hello. When we saw their driver waiting for us right on time in the airport we knew that this accommodation would deliver what they promised. We arrived at the lovely Main House and walked into a warm, helpful welcome and a large room/studio decorated with charming antiques. The hostess and staff are charming and warm. They...

My wife & I chose this place because of the previous reviews and because of convenience to a nearby work venue. We were more than happy with our choice and stayed for 7 nights. Communication was smooth, hosts organised a pick up from the airport to the house which made for a soft landing into London. The house was comfortable,...

The nicest place in one of London's most beautiful neighbourhoods. Elegant rooms, perfect service, easy to communicate, calm, just around the corner of the vibrant parts of Notting Hill and great restaurants and shops and near to the city center by the tube or buses. Nice walks to Holland Park and Hyde Park. The morning tea/coffee served on a silver...

The Main House is such a wonderful place. The perfect mix between stylish & cosy. The features of the house enhanced, the furniture a mix of charming antiques, lovely vintage pieces and travel-souvenirs-deluxe. The location sensationell: rows of elegant houses, next door to the most delicious organic-café (Daylesford) where we had breakfast every morning, next to some chic boutiques, little...

This place was exactly what I was looking for. A room in Notting Hill with charm and character. Not your sterile, designer boring hotel but a place which feels a bit quaint and full of character in a lovely Nottling Hill house - complete with squeaky wooden floorboards, sash windows, lovely bath and a decorative original fireplace. An elegant silver...

After a day of sightseeing in London, this is such a welcoming place to come back to in the evening. Anyone endowed with good taste and love of the antique will feel at home here. Our suite had no balcony, but there was a sweet little terrace where we enjoyed our (free) cups of tea. It was great!

Staying in Notting Hill

Neighbourhood Profile
Notting Hill
As West London's friskiest corner, Notting Hill more than manages to retain plenty of the same appeal that's brought the affluent area so much worldwide attention. In this attractive cobblestoned neighbourhood, a delectable variety of eateries, independent shops, galleries and street vendors offer a delightful window into how to live the good life in London, with each presenting visitors with an experience that's a little more idiosyncratic and endearing than the last. Travelers looking to forage for antiques should be sure to visit the Portobello Road Market on Saturdays, the largest antiques market in the United Kingdom.
