stayed here in November and it was amazing choice. Very good location. You could visit most of the city's attraction easily. The tune is right opposite the hotel. The chef and rest of the staff is very helpful and the hotel serves really good food. Nothing to complaint about the place.

Warm friendly welcome. Had a nice twin bedded room overlooking New Bridge St which was surprisingly quiet. Easy access to the city and the places we wished to visit - Tate Modern, Poppies at the Tower, HQS Wellington, etc. Easy access to London City airport via underground and DLR. Very nice meal at the Italian Restaurant. Will be very happy...

We stayed here for a Saturday night in November whilst visiting London and taking in a show. The hotel is ideally located across the road from Blackfriars tube station with the river just a short walk away. All the main tourist attractions are within a half hour walk too. Our room was quiet spacious which was a very pleasant surprise...

Stayed here in October for a city break. Chose Blackfriars so we could do more around the City and it was perfectly located. Rooms were kept clean and were comfortable - same for the bathrooms. Staff were always pleasant and attentive. Didn't eat at the hotel but others reported good meals there. Will absolutely recommend to anyone wanting the location....

The hotel was well located, basically in the middle of all the popular sightseeing places (Tower Bridge, Tower of London, Westminster Abbey, Big Ben, etc.) and it's just a stone's throw from London Blackfriars Underground Station. The rooms, just like the majority of rooms in London, were small. The rooms, however, were very well appointed and clean. The hotel itself,...

Loved this hotel. Pros: clean, beautifully kept, modern decor, top quality toiletries, conveniently located right across from the tube station, free wifi if you become an ihg member (it's free!), very private (elevator access by hotel key card only), very helpful staff, great area (black Friars is full of young professionals, lots of pubs) Cons: tube station has the circle/district...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
