This is a very good hotel with decent sized rooms by London standards. location is just superb, straight across the road from Blackfriars tube. Located a stones throw from the Thames, with great views of the London Eye which is just a short stroll away. Staff are very friendly and helpful. rooms have good amenities with a kettle for tea...

Stayed after a business conference, it was just down from St Pauls Cathedral, great location and reasonable rates. The room was really nice, lovely soft bed and nice amenities. Staff were friendly and the bar was great. The surrounding bars were ok, cheerful people and staff but £5.40 for pint of bitter was expensive (me being from Yorkshire) and it...

We stayed last weekend as a family and loved the hotel. Great location, by the river and opposite Blackfriars station. Room was spotless, no issues at all with the room. Breakfast was a delight and set us up for the days sightseeing. Will be going back.

We stopped for one night in March we arrived early 11.00 o'clock and was given our room straight away which helped for the rest of the day not having to return. The room was very nice and cleaned to a good standard. Two pillows each on the bed was welcome as well as we usually have to ask for extra....

My wife and I stayed here for 4 nights as part of a midweek break. Overall we enjoyed the experience. the hotel is in a decent location with St.Pauls & Millennium Bridge with 10 mins walk and Blackfriars tube over the road with access to the District & Circle lines. My family of 4 recently spent 4 nights here. It is a great location across the street from the blackfriars stop and there is a Tesco express next door plus another small grocery store near by. Room was very nice, only gave a 4 because beds were way to soft. It was quiet and clean and had nice toiletries. Service...

I checked in here to save myself from the freezing cold inside the hotel rooms at the Premier Inn Blackfriars that my cheap company recommended. Boo. Great front desk staff, great concierge. Wonderful bed and bedding. The room was a bit dated but clean, the bathroom wasn't quite as sparkling as I might have liked. But I am booking the...

Staff in this Hotel and indeed across the chain are extremely well trained in customer service. I find them welcoming, polite and efficient. This to me is the Hotels greatest asset. The hotel itself is like most large modern hotels, well run, comfortable and great location.

This was a wonderful hotel. It is well kept on the outside and is in a great location for tourists. The hotel is within walking distance from the Tate Modern art Museum and right across the street from the Black Friars train station, 2-3 stops from Trafalgar Square. The hotel is walking distance to a lot of great museums. The...

The location is very convenient right in front of the tube station Blackfriars close to the Thames. the rooms are clean - though not really modern - and size is OK. The gym is at the lower level, no daylights and has basic equipment - but you can go for a run at the Thames. Breakfast was Ok but not...

Staying in City of London

Neighbourhood Profile
City of London
From its ancient past as a Roman trading outpost to its 21st century status as the wealthiest square mile in the world, the financial district known simply as “The City” is one of London's most historic and fascinating neighbourhoods. Here high rise office towers such as Norman Foster’s Gherkin mingle with Roman ruins and architectural marvels from virtually every era in between, including Christopher Wren's glorious St.Paul's Cathedral, and John Soane's dauntingly classicist Bank of England. This neighbourhood is also home to some of the finest restaurants and plushest hotels in Europe, in addition to an assortment of of watering holes, upscale shops, and Tube stations. During the week, the City is abuzz with white collar workers going about their business; the weekend sees this area turn into a quiet haven for sightseers.
