I was in London for two nights solo. Clean room, great location to the tube, friendly staff. I found the pillow in the room to be rather flat so I asked for another and it was brought up immediately. The bed was comfortable. Also I needed to borrow a hair dryer and one was provided quickly. No frills here but it...

Travelling solo and visiting my old patch in London for a funeral and other social activities, (Stayed 3 nights.) Needed to keep things cheap and Merlyn Court suited beautifully. (Chose to have a shared bathroom.) Yes the building is a bit jaded but my room was clean and comfortable, as was the shared bathroom in which the shower was great....

Great little find. Clean, neat, tidy, safe and secure. Close to many great attractions, eateries, services in London, either by Tube or walking. Taxi and bus also close. A great place to stay and venture into London during the day, or night. Friendly service. Free Wifi is great. Hard to find a better price for what is on offer here.

Situated in the heart of a neighborhood, this hotel is an old house that has been renovated into smaller chambers. Not all rooms have their own private bath, so make sure you inquire when making reservations. Hotel is one block from a Tube and bus stop. There are many eateries within walking distance. The area is so quiet you can...

We stayed in a family room with two kids, age 10 and 13, on the top floor. The room was clean, but not fancy. The location is excellent and the staff were very friendly. The breakfast is toast and coffee but is an adequate way to get the day started. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice little place to stay for a weekend. Rooms are small but pretty clean and the hostess is very friendly. The breakfast is very limited (Coffee, Tea, toast, butter and marmelade). It's located in a quiet area close to the subway earls court which brings you to the centre of London very quickly.

Merlyn court is one amongst many lodges on that street. Nearby tube station and grocery stores and yet silent neighborhood makes it good location to stay. The reception lady is very helpful by nature and available all the time for a click of the door bell. The rooms are big and spacious.

First, the service of Merlyn Court is amazing. The entire staff made us feel at home and always had time to answer questions and to meet any needs that we had. They were certainly above and beyond. The Merlyn Court is also tidy, the beds were comfortable, and we loved the old hotel decor. Furthermore, the location is great, less...

Good price for a great location but small rooms (one small hard back chair), no other sitting area, no tv, and very limited wifi (as others have noted). Worked for us because we wanted something affordable in a good location (and the neighborhood is great).

Great central location, very small room, no tv...all ok so far, but the wifi advertised is only available from the lobby, so not convenient, and the other bad surprise was the breakfast in the stark basement room without ambiance nor coffee; you must wait for the waitress to boil the kettle to make instant coffee, and serve you dry toast,...

Staying in South Kensington

Neighbourhood Profile
South Kensington
With its ivied mews, row upon row of Poppins-esque white washed mansions, and placid garden squares, it's easy to see the charms of South Kensington. And with superb access to Hyde Park, Holland Park and Kensington Gardens, as well as the largely child-friendly and mostly free Museum Quarter (not to mention more major attractions like Royal Albert Hall) such charms are easy to make the most of. As welcoming and cosmopolitan as it is reserved and residential, South Kensington is always a hit with visitors.
