Everything is changed for the worse.
To start with, No Full English Breakfast!!!!!
The place has gone downhill.
Despite being an old building, there is no need for it to be so dirty and unkempt.
We stayed there several times in the past and were very pleased. but this time was just too much.
The Full breakfast has been replaced with a standard so low it is unacceptable.
The evening sherry in the drawing room is replaced by a vending machine.
The stuffing is falling out of the pillows,
the bathrooms are out of order half the time and filthy the rest of the time,
the walls are grimy and in need of paint especially where the old picture frames used to be,
the handrail on the stair is so sticky from years of abuse and poor housekeeping it is dangerously filled with disease and too filthy to touch
the window curtains are old, torn and again, filthy.
The hot water is only tepid, and the cold water is almist as warm as the hot water,
The place is so badly run, 2 of the 4 lights in our room did not work,
Even the Staff complain of the many changes for the worse made by the new owners.
This is now a part of the Crown Group of Hotels

Some basic rules of running a business like this is to keep it clean, keep on top of maintenance.
Avoid rooms 30 (a cupboard) and room 1, doors slamming all night
Please at least get a soft close on your doors Arran House Hotel
With single rooms in Central London you get used to small beds and small rooms. But unfortunately this is still a really bad example.
The bed was tiny with a small flat pillow and a very warm duvet despite the heating being on high. But the bathroom was the low light. The shower was approx 60cm square with a tired curtain across two sides. That's about the size of a kitchen cupboard.
After a bad night's sleep you want a decent shower but no chance of that here.
There are better budget hotels in the neighbourhood. Use them.
The room was a single, so I understood it would be small, but this was really small. The bed overlapped the door and I had to move the bed each time I overlapped the door. It was fine to use as a base, but you couldn't spend a lot of time in it though.
The walls were quite thin and I could hear everyone walking past, which was annoying in the morning.
The breakfast was great, although the dining room is quite cramped.
It was in a good central location, a good price and I would stay again.
"Make sure to book quickly , right next to Goodge Street station so you can travel around . Make sure to go to the toilet before bed ."Read full review
